A secret area is accessed by finding six hidden "things" on the world map. There are currently three different world areas in Game Preview, and each one has a different "thing" you will need to find. You will either find a brown lever, a pedastal with a green button, or a floating platform with a blue light. Simply touch the thing to activate it. It does not matter which order you activate them, though I have read reports of some not activating right away, but only after doing a different one and returning. This never happened to me though.

When you enter and exit town a few times, the space bear will pick up the town and move it. This is how you switch which world area you are in, and doing so will reset any "things" you have found, so try to do this in one trip. You can use this guide to find and activate all the things in whichever world area you like, and be transported to a secret area. You will receive a special reward when you arrive, though if your inventory is full you won't be able to pick it up. Doing so is not required for the achievement though, it will unlock as soon as you transport to the secret area.
