In Survival, go to the upgrade station to the left of the reactor. BUy the mech and upgrade it by buying the two upgrades to the right of the mech. Video guide here:

For this Achievement, we need to Play ANY MODE. After we need to Purchase a Robot. You can do this by repairing the machine to the left. Next you can purchase a Robot/Drone for this achievement.

There is a mech station on the left of the base. You need to buy that and then upgrade the Mech suit completely, which is only 2 items (health and rockets). Easily done on Survival. I hated using the Mech, so I got this achievement and quit buying it ever again.
