How to unlock the It's My Island achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 - Definitive Guide

Hey everybody!

Just so you know - the description is wrong! You need to beat the Boss wave in order for the achievement to pop.

----------------------------------------------

So, doesn't matter what side you're on, go outside of your safe zone and raise the flag. Make sure you have a few pots/turrets with you, the help a lot. Don't forget to shoot reinforcement crates, same deal - they help!

You'll go through a few waves until the boss wave hits. All you need to do is beat it. Obviously, you can't lose - meaning, you can't leave the flag zone for long and let it be captured by the opposite side. Once everyone is dead, the achievement will pop!

----------------------------------------------------

It doesn't matter what class you're playing, if you're doing it solo or in co-op, if you're hosting or not.

If you want to make it easier and less challenging, go to the globus at your safe zone ( to the left of entrance to your Stats Room, and change the difficulty option to Easy.

Hope this helps!

If you have any suggestions, improvements or remarks, let me and everybody know in the comments :)

Thanks, redjarman, this is exactly what I did as a solo player. I will admit that my Vampire Sunflower was only Advanced ranked with a Speed upgrade as well as upgrades to the Health Regeneration Delay and Health Regeneration. I got really lucky with the reinforcement crates providing another Sunflower, 2 Citrons, a Cactus, a Corn, and a Chomper throughout the waves, meaning I didn't even need the potted plants until the boss wave showed up. I just let them have the flag after getting the achievement as I had finished my plants team quests for the day while going for the achievement.

Stuffy Sunflower on easy also works wonders. The extra rainbows really help and just need to make sure to put down your pots in later rounds. Stuffy is also easier to get than Vampire thru random packs.

You can't raise the flag in the middle of the quest. Needs to be done outside quests. Just go outside, get to the flag and hold B button next to it.

Try to finish plants quest line , those quests that Bot gives you. Once all 6 are done, go outside. Try to raise it then. But before !!! - just dashboard and restart the game.

I just did this. Got to the endless wave before I died. And the achievement didn't pop. Did I do something wrong?

Was this a part of a quest from Dave Bot or did you trigger this by yourself?

It popped while I was offline. It's lagging behind but I got it :)

It says a few waves, but I get a wave of every character and keep dying at the all-stars or imps. That's like 6/7 waves. Am I doing something wrong?

There are few waves. Put the game on easy if you're struggling, get a decent character that can hold his ground, try to buy packs to buy pots or bots, worst case - just invite a friend and go together.

Is it a wave of each character? Like browncoats, Pirates, engineers, scientists, AllStar, soldier, super brainz and imp? Or just a few waves of what ever then a boss? I keep getting the 7-8 waves. I have problems doing this solo but have no one to play with to get past these waves

Exactly - browncoats, then 5 or 6 regular enemies, then bosses.

Play as Vampire Sunflower on easy. You literally can't die as long as you keep shooting them.
I reached around 750 kills when finally a disco zombie knocked me out of the circle and into the waiting arms of three yetis that froze me out there until the flag was captured

Game:
Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2

Achievement:
It’s My Island - Reach the Boss wave using the Flag of Power in the Backyard Battleground.

Difficulty:
Easy

Notes

- In order to unlock this achievement, you need to BEAT the boss wave, not just reach it.

- There are 8 waves excluding the boss. These are a Weed/Browncoat wave, and the other 7 are a swarm of each of the character. If anyone wondering, they are: Peashooter, Chomper, Sunflower, Cactus, Kernal Corn, Citron, and Rose OR Foot Solider, Engineer, Scientist, All-star, Super Brainz, Imp, and Captain Deadbeard. This depends on which side you choose.

How to Unlock

First things first, switch to the plants side. Go into the garage and talk to Dave Bot. Look into the upper left hand corner and notice there’s a difficulty adjuster. Set this to the easy difficulty.

Go into the character booth and choose your character as the orginial Kernal Corn. He’s one of the best for this achievement because of his solid health, insane fire rate, and great damage. Walk out and raise the flag in the center of the Backyard Battleground.

For the potted plants I suggest using anything, if you need support. If you ever dip below 100 health, spawn a heal flower to ensure survival.

Never leave your safe zone, for it is easy to lose control of the flag.

Handy Tip

Always break open the reinforcement crates, even if you think you don’t need them.

Hope this helps!

Kernal Corn was a good choice, barely made it right at the end of the boss wave
