Pretty simple. You can complete matches in the Mystery portal to earn Rainbow stars. You earn three Rainbow stars for a win and 1 Rainbow star for every completion. Hope this helps, currently working on this myself. Happy Hunting.

Note: selling your normal stars to the seagull in the Town Hall for Rainbow stars does not count towards the achievement.

Edit: There must have been an update since the day the DLC dropped. Wins now grant you 5 Rainbow stars and completions grant you 3 Rainbow stars.

can confirm exchanging stars with the seagull does not count, You MUST earn them via the portal multiplayer games.

I'd mentioned that you can also buy the Rainbow stars from the seagull but those stars don't count towards the achievement. @blueriversbeast

blueriversbeast the solution was edited, IKB thought trading stars with the seagull counted.

Looks like the stars earned have now been increased. 5 for a win and 3 for a loss.

Since very few play, if you feel like saving a tiny bit of time, join matches from time to time, you'll most likely get put into a match in progress that's going to end a bit quicker.
