How to unlock the Together we Win achievement in Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 - Definitive Guide
The new update added a PvZ calendar:
http://www.pvzgw2.com/events-calendar
Want some notice or hints towards what the event is check their Twitter:
https://twitter.com/plantsvszombies?lang=en
This will allow you to keep track of calendar events or join sessions for reminders if any are available.
Each time the Community Challenge event becomes available a tower will spawn outside the town-hall with the Mystery Portal. You won't need to leave the game for it to spawn.
Beside this are three chests one is for coins (Yellow), one is for a Blue item pack (Blue) and the final one is for a Legendary item (Red). Generally the first two will be achieved depending on the requirements of the event. If these goals are met a notification will show in the mailbox back at spawn and some fireworks will go off at the town-hall. There is a meter in the middle which will tell how close to the goal the community is.
There will be 4 days to contribute as much as you can, some will have caps like completing quests as these are a set amount each day or no cap like revives which can be farmed in a private match.
Contributing will help towards:
Of course the more contributions made, the more likely you are to get more chests opened for the community challenge.
*Current Event* (In the event of me not updating this, check the comments or sessions)
*Event ended*
Of course if the solution helped leave a positive vote.

Yo Matdan! Firstly, +1.
Secondly, there are 4 days, not 3.

Thanks, I edited silly me looking at the days and not the overall time.

The solution above works fine, but as some of you may already know, there is a bug that affects some gamers where your progress percentage decreases by 20-30% every time you open the game and makes this achievement unobtainable for them. Very frustrating, to say the least...
The bug has been discussed in the comments section of the other solution, and a thread has been opened in PvZ forums, you can go there and leave a comment if you are affected. Hopefully, fingers crossed, they'll fix it... I highly doubt it though... http://answers.ea.com/t5/Bugs-Issues/Xbox-One-Achievement-Ap...
Feel free to ask for a fix there (please do!)
But fear not, since there's a potential workaround for this! Thanks to the keen power of observation of capt curlybob, there's something you can try and see if it works for you too (it worked for me).
So, here's how it works:
1) Wait until the number of chests you need to open are already available to open. Check progress using the website, not the game. You can check the active community event here: http://www.pvzgw2.com/community-challenge
You can check the general calendar for each month here: http://www.pvzgw2.com/events-calendar
2) Using an alt gamertag (yours should not be signed in), load up the game
3) Play some MP (I assume anything works here, not necessarily MP, but that's what I did) for a few minutes to make sure everything has loaded up properly.
4) Press the back button and select to switch profiles. You will be asked to choose your profile (a message saying "Who are you?" and a list of all gamertags available in your console will pop)
5) Select your gamertag. You will be taken back to the main menu and you'll have to wait to connect to the servers. When you are in your backyard with your gamertag as the active one (the alt gamertag will still be signed in on your xbox, that's ok), you can check your progress towards the achievement. It should be the same as you had before logging in.
6) With your gamertag, do whatever it is you have to do to meet the requirements for opening the chests.
7) Once you're done, go open the chests. The achievement should pop.
I hope it works for you as it did for me, huge props to capt curlybob for sharing this with me!

I'm sorry that it didn't work for you :( Not that it's of much help, but you might want to comment on this thread on EA forums: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Bugs-Issues/Xbox-One-Achievement-Ap... strength in numbers and all that. As for community challenges not getting to 3 chests, I wouldn't completely lose hope just yet, there are challenges that are harder, or more tedious, or that you have to play a specific mode (such as MP for the last one) which can fall short, but there are also challenges simply for vanquishing enemies where every kill counts and those are finished sometimes even up to 2 days before the deadline (when I got mine, there were almost 2 full days left when the third goal was met, and that was only 3 challenges ago)

I did exactly what you said but it didn't work. I lose 20% and now there are less people on the game than before so it's nearly impossible that 3 chests will be opened again. At the last community event it was only 2 chests and in some time it is going to be only one...

For this achievement, you will need to participate in Community Challenges. Community Challenges happen once a month and you will see a giant meter near the town hall tracking the community progress on the challenge. There are also three chests next to that meter. One will unlock for when one of the three goals has been reached. In order to unlock the chests, you first have to do your fair share of work in the challenge. It may ask you to Goatify 20 Zombies or take out 15 people with the Turbo Twister. (that could only be done before he was nerfed, right? ) If you are also aiming toward the chests, make sure you commit more to the challenge after your amount of work has been done. It will take you at least 2 Community Challenges to get this achievement so remember my two important tips.
- Make sure to finish your goal to unlock chests
- If one of the chests haven't been unlocked, contribute more so you can get the chest
