In most levels there is a merchant stand that will offer you a medallion in exchange for 100 coins. Just talk to the merchant for this achievement to unlock.

You can talk to the merchant immediately after you get the explorer glider up in the sky.

The first place you will find the mysterious traveling merchant is in Cozy Canyon. This character will be located in the lighthouse area that will be accessible after you have earned a few Explorer Medallions in this level. He will be on the left side of this area behind a little stall on the small island and will look like a raccoon. Talk to him to earn the trophy.
