Near the flying boat, there is a platform with a scientist. Climb in the open cockpit of the rocket. The boy will be sent to the hidden planet.

This did not work for me. I am guessing that there are other requirements before it unlocks, such as a certain number of medallions are needed or items collected.

After you obtain the Rocket Blastoff Explorer Medallion in Cozy Canyon, the scientist will appear in The Sky along with his rocket ship. Fly over to him and go inside his rocket. This will warp you to a secret planet and give you the trophy.
