Fossils are a collectible that can be found in the game, and there are a total of 32 fossils that can be found. To be able to dig up fossils, you will need to buy the shovel from the Master Explorer for 75 coins. You can see which fossils you have dug up by checking the fossils tab in the Explorer Book. I highly recommend buying the compass for 30 coins and having it equipped while running through each level to have an easier time finding fossil dig spots since it will point you in the direction of them if you are nearby.

Fossils are in the following levels:

• Cozy Canyon - 8 Fossils
• Mount Magma - 8 Fossils
• Sinking Sands - 8 Fossils
• Crystal Cavern - 8 Fossils

Once you dig up all of the fossil in a level, don’t forget to talk to the archeologist in The Sky to earn some Explorer Medallions!
