As you collect Explorer Medallions, you will eventually start to see the Master Explorer talking about a storm after you earn a medallion. After earning a few more medallions after the first time this happens, the storm will appear and move you to an area in front of the Mysterious Gate. You will see a cut scene with four clue stones floating off to the other levels, and you will need to find them in order to open the gate.

• Green Stone – This is found in Cozy Canyon. Proceed to the area with the light house, and go left past the merchant. In the back of this part of the level, you should see some grassy steps coming out of the water. Jump up these and you should see a symbol and green glowing spot on the ground. Stand on this spot and enter the warp when prompted to teleport with an area with a lot of water and a glowing object moving under the water. Follow this stone, and when you are directly above it, jump to catch the green stone. This may take several tries since the timing needs to be exact, but you will eventually get it!
• Red Stone – This is found in Mount Magma. Head to the ruins area near the traveling merchant. From this spot, you should be able to see a large Lavasaurus Rex statue with a red symbol on its chest in the distance. Go to this statue and enter the warp when prompted to teleport to an area with lots of lava. Quickly get through this platforming section before the platforms sink into the lava, and you will find the blue stone at the very end.
• Yellow Stone – This is found in Sinking Sands. Head to the leftmost area of the level where you found the Heart of the Sandpit Explorer Medallion, and on the left side you should see a rock that has a symbol on it. Go to the right side of this rock (you will know if you are in the correct spot if there is a Golden Gear here) and walk through the wall to get to a secret area. Stand in the light and enter the warp when prompted to be taken away to a desert in the middle of a sandstorm. Follow the arrows in this section to reach the yellow stone behind a broken wall. I highly recommend lining yourself up as straight as possible with each arrow or else the character may wander off and you have to start from the beginning again.
• Blue Stone – This is found in Crystal Cavern. Head to the very top of the Elder Crystals (the large crystal structure at the second starting location) and you should see a blue symbol on the wall and a glowing spot on the ground. Stand in this spot and enter the warp when prompted to be taken to an area that is extremely dark with many crystal beams and tiny crystal platforms. Slowly make your way to the end of this section and be careful when jumping to reach the blue stone.

You will also need 60 Explorer Medallions to open the gate. Once you have found all four stones and have the required amount of medallions, go back to the Mysterious Gate to open it and get your trophy.
