Basically in order to earn this achievement you need to accumulate a score of 1,000,000 points in one Action Mode match. If you can handle speed levels of 60 and up, and still manage to get as many challenge hands as possible, you'll get this in no time.
In order to get it as soon as possible so you don't have to worry about high-speed levels, get every challenge hand possible, at least until well over the 30th speed level. Then by the time you reach 60 you'll have almost all the points. At this point it's just a matter of staying in the game and making challenge hands whenever possible. With practice, it's not that hard of an achievement.

In the beginning I also got lots of straight flushes, wach worth 15k to give you a good start. Later on you get 100k + for making the harder challenges, straights, flush etc, do you best to get as many as possible,

Challenge hands are indeed excessively valuable. An obvious addition would be to save your bombs and slomo for every challenge hand, all else does not matter so you can either keep the stack as small as possible in between, or take a little bit more risk by preparing for some of the harder challenge hands. I just kept it simple and clean.

Yes, this must be done in one Action Mode game. It's not quite as hard as it's made out to be, just so long as you can handle the higher speed levels and can make challenge hands regularly. Later on in the game, challenge hands become worth a lot of points and are key in reaching this score.
By no means is it impossible, but it will take patience and a knack for making challenge hands while withstanding speed levels of 60 and up.
