This is is cumulative. After every game you earn Match Points and they sum up. It depends on how creative your shots are. "Bank shots" or "curve shots" give you more points then normal shots.
To check your progress, go to "Home>Profile". In the "Stats"-Tab you'll see "Match Points".
It really depends on how you play. I unlocked this after 4-5 hours.

True,I simply just used curve shots all the way through a single frame of 9 ball & got the achievement. & with Novice Aim Aid it's extremely easy to make a pot with a curve shot. Good luck :)

Best thing to get this is to play endurance, easy mode, with 'Aim' set to 'Novice'.
If you get a big enough ball streak (100-150 or so), you'll almost definitely have this achievement by match's end.

This must be cumulative because I got it after a match in career in which I only scored 60,000 points or so. I have played quite a few matches though.

It's possibly cumulative. It's unable to be tested. However, I got it all in one game of Endurance so I can't help, sorry.
