You can begin cooking after buying the kitchen via Bulk and Build. Ingredients can be purchased via the farm as well as through fishing and defeating enemies.
Cooking will only count ONCE per cooking animation, even if you bulk craft recipes. Best option is to cook each individually for the achievement.

Good note about the bulk cooking, wondered why mine popped so late but that checks out now

Does this have to be different types of meals or can I just cook corn 50 separate times? It isn't working for me or going up at all.
