How to unlock the Skilled Technician achievement in PowerGig Rise of the SixString - Definitive Guide

Play vocals on the song "Bombtrack" by Rage Against The Machine. That song is all 'talkie'. Just put your mic in front of a fan, the speakers, hum into it or whatever. You should also hit all of the notes with 'perfect', which will also unlock the "Perfectionist" achievement in the game. 2 for 1 FTW!!!

***Added By KurtisKaos*** - Confirmed through trial: Lips, guitar hero, rock band, and disney sing-it mics all work... hope this helps.

Thanks, that should help everyone wondering!

Confirmed the original RB1 and Logitech Vantage wired mics work with this method. The wired RB2 Mad Catz controller/mic barely registered anything with a fan/hum/sing/scream.

The problem here is that Power Gig's talkie parts are still "low" on the scale, and fans are slightly higher pitched -- so in between words, the pitchbar will "jump" up causing you to miss a little bit. I tried it a couple times and got 99%, but I moved the mike a little bit and somehow got 100%. If you can't get it, you can try finding a tone generator that matches the pitch on screen. That might help, although I haven't tried it.

do you need the official powergig "Mojovox" mic to do this? Ive been trying to play with my rock band mic and the game says i need to connect a mic.

I did it with a Guitar Hero mic, but I would think the Rock Band mic would work as well...

The fan trick doesn't see to work with this game, but I did get this to pop using a wireless Lips-style mic. I actually used the Virtuoso keyboard app on my iPhone and held the mic up to its speaker. Kept randomly playing notes on the keyboard constantly, and the game scored me at 100%, using Bombtrack. Nice!
