How to unlock the Tutorials Complete achievement in Praetorians - HD Remaster - Definitive Guide
Follow the four tutorial missions before the main campaign. You can fail these, so tread carefully! You can, however, save at any time, so do so regularly!
The first tutorial is the basics of control, camera control and how to move your units, followed by a few easy battles. When they are done, march to the end of the forest to finish.
************************************************************************************
The second tutorial starts with you defending yourself from an ambush, before being introduced to some new units. Your next task will be to attach the garrison in the village. If you just rush everybody up too fast you will likely fail as some units are faster than others. Move up slowly and take out the attacking enemies, slowing/stopping to heal where needed, before destroying the garrison.
Next you will learn how to build units and buildings, before having to defend the village from attackers. You should have plenty of time to build a couple of towers and amass a pretty big army by the time they come, however.
Next you will need to take over an enemy defense tower. It is defended pretty heavily, and you will be ambushed on the way a few times, to take a big army over there to make sure you don't get caught short of troops. I left my key guys back at the village to avoid them getting killed. Once you have destroyed it, defeat any remaining enemies to finish the tutorial.
************************************************************************************
The third tutorial is a bit harder; this one and the fourth one being on Medium difficulty. In this tutorial we will be laying siege to, and assaulting, an enemy fortress. You will be aquainted with two new units at the start, the Legionaire and the Wolf Scout. Send your wolf into the forest to the east, then send your Legionaires and Infantry in to take out the bandits. Once out, get your infantry to build a garrison so you can start producting additional troops. You will get attacked from the north, but this shouldn't give you too much trouble.
Recruit two more infantry units as requested, then the rest whatever you fancy. The tougher troops will take longer to train, but it is really worth the wait. I suggest training troops until there aren't any more available.
Head towards the fortress to get a cutscene, then use your infantry to build ladders and catapaults as instructed.
This tutorial is trying to get you to use the right units at the right time, so the assault on the fortress needs some planning. Utilise the Turtle formation for you Legionaires to get them closer and soak up the arrow damage, then use your ladders to get everybody up to the fortress, clearing the walls before mopping up inside to finish the mission.
***********************************************************************
The Fourth tutorial is mostly about using formations effectively. To start with, itinstruduces us to yet another new unit, the Equite cavalry. Use this new unit to take out the bowmen to the northwest of your starting location, on the high ground. Follow the instructions in the next few battle, using the units as instructed to win easily. Next, take your archers down by the river and destroy the catapults.
Once they are nicely burned, demote one of your archer units to make an Axiliary Infantry unit, and use the to rebuild the bridge. Gather your whole army before you cross the bridge, so you can easily take out the enemies on the other side. Use the on screen tips to win emphatically here. Once you win you will see a cutscene where you will get a bunch of reinforcements.
Use your hawk to scout ahead, then send your army down to the very bottom village. (leaving your key people in the clearing, if they die you will fail the mission. Kill any enemies on the way down here, then destroy the garrison before building your own (you may need to demote a unit to get some Infantry). The screen will say that you have finished the fourth tutorial, but this is not quite right. You still need to defeat Dubalix to finish the mission.
Build a whole load more units at this town, before moving to the next town and either taking or destroying it. Again, build as many units as you can. The more you have the easier you will find it. Move up the map, using your hawk to scout, and head towards the fortress taking out the towers on the way. Build some ladders and siege weapons as you will need them to tackle the fortress.
Used what you have learned, and to be honest, just throw everything you have at the fortress. Killing Dubalix will end this one!
