How to unlock the I and It achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide

This is not as easy as the one for saving all humans, as every human has to die by your hand on the ship. So if something else kills them then that will void the achievement.

Some Tips:

-You can use the stun gun on the mind controlled people and then kill them when they are unconscious if you are struggling with them, as them suiciding will not count as an achievement.

-You should make sure in your stats that the “Humans Killed” number is accurate, personally I checked after each kill that the number went up accordingly. You need to get 42 kills to get this achievement.

-You’ll get a side mission when Dahl arrives, assumed you killed everybody you could up to this point called “Showing Initiative”. This mission has you kill four mind-controlled crew members in life support, and this needs to be done for the trophy. Those crew members only spawn in during this side mission!

-You also need to kill the two crew members stuck in the escape pod in the shuttle bay. To get the quest, select either Frank Jones or Emmanuella DeSilva from the security terminal and track them. Go to the escape pods, they’ll tell you to blow the hatch seal outside manually so they can escape. Don’t do that, just go to the maintenance panel and launch pod 2. This will make the escape pod explode instead.

-You should also go to the Bridge, and on the second floor will be a terminal tracking the progress of an Escape Pod to Seattle, destroy the shuttle with the terminal (part of the Shuttle Advent quest but you can do this at anytime).

-It’s also important to remember that sometimes people will be unconscious (like when you kill a Telepath), and this may make them easy to miss, so check bodies on the floor to make sure they are a Corpse!

-If you miss anyone use a Security Terminal to find them.

-You don't need to kill Danielle Sho

Here is the list of people you need to kill and the exact order in which I did it (which is generally the best way to do it), I also recorded all their names so you can track them on Security Terminals and check them off this list.

The way I will show you how to do this achievement you will also be able to easily unlock “Awkward Ride Home” in just 5 minutes extra, which I highly recommend since you are already almost at the achievement.

PreySecret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Prey worth 110 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Chronological List:

TALOS I LOBBY

1– Trevor J. Young | Location: Trauma Center, locked in Quarantine.

PSYCHOTRONICS

2– V-090655-13 (AKA Aaron Ingram) | Location: Psychotronics, locked in a Glass Cell near a Security Terminal. Open the door and kill him, do not run the Mimic Experiment!

ARBORETUM

In the Greenhouse; you can get the password by following the obscure path near the Crew Quarters that will take you to a little Picnic Area (it’s in the briefcase), hack the computer, or find a way to navigate to the roof of the Greenhouse (GLOO gun).

You need to ensure that you kill all 3 yourself, as there is a Telepath in the Greenhouse as well. When you kill a Telepath nearby Mind-Controlled Humans will be rendered unconscious. Personally, I just killed the 3 people with my pistol and left.

3– Mickey Pitt Sr. | Location: Greenhouse

4– Rani Chaudhary | Location: Greenhouse

5– Rodney S. Poole | Location: Greenhouse

BRIDGE

Now is a good time to quickly go to the Bridge, and on the second floor will be a terminal tracking the progress of an Escape Pod to Seattle, destroy the shuttle with the terminal (part of the Shuttle Advent quest but you can do this at anytime).

Activating this won’t affect your Humans Killed stat, but I still did it to be sure!

CREW QUARTERS

The Crew Quarters is quite large and people do tend to wander around. I will highlight the areas you will need to visit to kill everyone and the general order to do so.

In the Main Lobby there should be a few people, then moving to the Crew Quarters there will be a Telepath and a few more people (also check on the second floor dining area). Returning to the Main Lobby there should be a few more people wandering around. In the Recreation Center there should be one man unconscious on the stairwell.

Now moving to the Fitness Center (code can be found on Lobby Security Terminal) there should be a few people in the hallways (watch out for the guy standing just behind the door!). In the Locker rooms will be a couple more, one person will be hiding in the showers.

At the back of the Fitness Centre is the Pool area, there is another Telepath and quite a few Humans. Remember to check your stats after every kill. Personally, I killed the Telepath with a Q-Beam quickly then hit all the unconscious bodies with my wrench.

If you missed anyone, you can track them on the Security Terminal so it shouldn’t be too hard, as long as you ensure no one died via suicide.

6– Carlos Popinga
7– Bernard Griffith
8– Indigo Lake
9– Caleb Hawethorne
10– Lisa Larson
11– Vincent Schubel
12– Franz Klinge
13– Jillian Quigg
14– Phong Vu
15– Gary Snow
16– Emma Beatty
17– Oliver Benoit
18– Ike Stewar
19– Daniel London
20– Salman Kapoor
21– Harvey Clausen
22– Mary Malinaro
23– David Branch

Now is also a good time to kill the cook, personally I gave him his award then killed him after he opened the kitchen, or you can just shoot him through the window. He is in the Cafeteria area of Crew Quarters.

24– V-010655-37 (AKA Luka Golubkin, The Cook, Will Mitchell)

CARGO BAY

Continuing the story you will get an optional quest to save Dr.Igwe (as you are at the Cargo Bay Hull Breach). You want to rescue him, and you also want to ensure that nobody in the Cargo Bay dies (there are 9 people here including Sarah, Igwe and an injured female on the second floor, the other 6 are soldiers). Make sure they are all alive after opening Cargo Bay B!

PreySecret AchievementThe Secret Achievement achievement in Prey worth 31 pointsContinue playing to unlock this secret achievement

Don’t kill any of them until you continue the story, we will return to the Cargo Bay later in the guide!

POWER PLANT

Continue the main story until you meet Mikhaila Ilyushin. When you do meet her, kill her.

25– Mikhaila Ilyushin

CARGO BAY

Ensuring you followed the steps carefully when first entering the Cargo Bay (see above), eventually Igwe will call you to tell you he is in your office. At this point return to the Cargo Bay and kill everyone there (sometimes the game will glitch and Igwe will still be at the Cargo Bay, kill everyone EXCEPT him! When you return to your office he will also be there, and he will be friendly to you still.)

26– Sarah Elazar
27– Austin Cool
28– Alfred Rose
29– Darcy Maddox
30– Ekaterina Mulsaev
31– Kevin Hague
32– Sam Hertz
33– Tamiko Hayashi

SHUTTLE BAY

Now is a good time to head to the Shuttle Bay escape pods. To get the quest, select either Frank Jones or Emmanuella DeSilva from the security terminal and track them, or you can just go to the escape pods if you know the location, they’ll tell you to blow the hatch seal outside manually so they can escape. Don’t do that, just go to the maintenance panel and launch pod 2. This will make the escape pod explode instead.

34– Frank Jones
35– Emmanuella DeSilva

LIFE SUPPORT

Continuing the Main Quest, eventually Dahl will arrive. Shortly after leaving Alex’s office Dahl will call you and remark on your killing tendencies, you will also get a new quest “Showing Intiative”. This is required to complete as these 4 people will only spawn in after this quest begins! They are in the Escape Pod Area of Life Support (Harley may be roaming the hallways near the Grav Shaft so look out for her). Also ensure the Phantom doesn’t take any of your kills in the Escape Pods so remember to keep an eye on your Humans Killed stat!

36– Harley Grainger (Mind-Controlled)
37– Maxine Ford (Mind-Controlled)
38– Richard Coveney (Mind-Controlled)
39– Steve Folson (Mind-Controlled)

SHUTTLE BAY

You wan’t to talk to Igwe at your Office and complete the Incapacitate Dahl Quest, if you’ve already done Showing Initiative, Dahl will be waiting for you in Shuttle Bay, however it is a trap. I recommend killing as many military operators in the area as you can before approaching Dahl because he will turn on you.

You want to use the Stun Gun on Dahl (I got him through the window to the left of door, by breaking it with my wrench first. You can also use the propulsion system to enter the big windows on the front of the room. Extend the Jetway using the computer while you’re here as well. After you Incapacitate Dahl, the next task will be to kill the Tech Officer (part of the Main Story, this is the Operator that spawns in a random location).

ARBORETUM

Shortly later in the main story you will meet Alex Yu, greet your brother by smacking him repeatedly with the wrench.

40– Alex Yu

In summary you should know have Igwe in your Office and Dahl unconscious somewhere. Everyone else should be dead.

NEUROMOD DIVISION

Advance the Story and Igwe will tell you he is ready in the Neuromod Division. Complete the procedure to remove his Neuromods, and after a brief conversation Igwe will open the doors to the Operating area. Kill Igwe

41– Dr. Igwe

If you also want to get the Awkward Ride Home achievement quick save right here!

Now kill Dahl

42– Dahl

Achievement unlocked!

PreyI and ItThe I and It achievement in Prey worth 111 pointsKill every Human on and around Talos I.

At this point you can quick load, Dahl should be alive and Igwe (and everybody else) should be dead, with your stats saying 41 Humans Killed. You can easily get the Awkward Ride Home achievement from this point.

Complete the game by destroying Talos I and during the 8 minute Self Destruct countdown Dahl will tell you his Shuttle is leaving in around 5 minutes. Hurry over to the Shuttle Bay and upon entering Dahl’s Ship you should see on the Blue Screen: 0 Cargo Hold, 2 Cabin. The achievement should unlock shortly as you enter (you don’t even need to sit down).

This is a hint that can save you some time in the crew area. Head ti the fitness center ASAP! The two people in the hallway will eventually die trying to get back to the pool. I went to the fitness center last and they were already dead.

The step-by-step guide is great, and the numbers are very helpful.

I know you said these were listed in the order you killed them, but the phrasing around the power plant and cargo bay might lead some people to thinking they need to find and kill Mikhaila Ilyushin before they ever even get to Dr. Igwe and the cargo bay.

You may wanna add something about how compact the mind controlled people in the fitness center are. I ended up losing a playthrough because I wasn't properly prepared to kill them all in time.

Also, there's a portion of the game you say you should skip over people, like with Ilyushin and Igwe. At that point you may wanna consider avoiding "numbering" them until we're actually supposed to go back and kill them

Excellent guide, thumbs up from me! One thing to note, in order to get "Awkward Ride Home" I had to destroy January at the Talos I Bridge before activating the self-destruct. Otherwise, January pretends to be Morgan and tells Dahl to leave without him failing the Dahl quest. So you might want to add something to your guide about destroying January, unless I am mistaken and there is another way. Other than that, this was a huge help, thanks!

Running the mimic experiment in Psychotronics counts as a kill now. I checked my stats before and after running the experiment, and Humans Killed was at 1 after, and it wasn't listed (meaning it was at 0) before. There must have been an update that fixed it.

Thanks for the guide!

I was able to get the achievement using it. I ran into a potentially detrimental issue when going for the mind controlled people in life support. If you do not arrive there fast enough, the psychopathic Typhon might kill Richard Coveney before you arrive. I was able to go back to a save previous to me arriving in life support and raced my way to the escape pods and was able to kill him before the Typhon did, ( A bullet to the head as the Typhon was attacking). I was really lucky to steal the kill from it.

Lost a save in the Crew Quarters, somehow missed a couple of people and didn't realise you only get 4 save slots, which had already been eaten up auto and quicksaves, argh.

The two people in Fitness corridor start to head back to the pool area and get killed by the fire between, best kill those two ASAP.

I got the call from Igwe and was able to kill those in the Cargo Bay before I went to Power Plant, and between killing them, and Killing Mikhalia as soon as I saw her with Psychoshock I gained an extra kill. I think I got 1 point for killing Mikhalia, and 1 point for Failing the quest to save her.

I ended the game with 41/42 humans killed because I missed one person by the fitness center (Oliver Benoit) who walked into the flames and died before I could even reach him. I thought maybe I could still pop the achievement but NOPE. You need to kill every human by your hand. Gotta go back now.

I've been sneaking up on mind-controlled humans with Mind Jack and then hitting them with my wrench. I've had to so a lot of save and redo in the crew quarters and make sure they don't get in any other harm. That was a tough one. This guide helped a ton. As a completionist, I can appreciate the time and thought this list took to make. I'm also working on finding everyone on Talos. Fingers crossed.

So I beat the game twice already. First playthrough was Human only and the second was the Typhon. During the Typhon path, I killed everybody. Well, I thought I did when I beat the game. Turns out I was missing 1 person - Lisa Larson. For some reason, her status on the security terminal is ------. Stupid idiot got glitched out of the world. Time for New Game + because 1 NPC couldn't be killed.

Excellent guide, thank you for sharing it!

I want to add one tip that helped me a lot in Life Support - just before uploading the coral scan data on Alex's office terminal (thus triggering Dahl and the military operators arriving), go down to life support and clear out all the typhon that have respawned first, so that it's easier to take out the last four mind-controlled humans.

If you didn't do this, you may be arriving in Life Support with an ethereal phantom, voltaic phantom, weaver, corrupted operator, AND the telepath... and I just could not beat them to the kills (even on story mode difficulty).

Good luck all :)

can confirm that blowing up the shuttle from the bridge is not necessary. I never zoned into the bridge when going for this.

if going for this achievement only, you can kill everyone in cargo bay on first visit, including igwe. I messed up my first attempt for this, so I had to re-play solely for this achievement. it took me a little over 3 hours, not really rushing.

something else I'll add; I used the q-beam on the telepath in life support for dahls sidemission. when it exploded, it killed the 3 humans but they got added to my kill count.

FUCK!
Second time I have done this. I did this on steam years ago.
28– Alfred Rose killed himself when I got back. No idea how. I got back to the cargo bay and he was squeezed between the cargo lift and the girter. Had to go back to a save 2 hours before. Such a pain.

Beware of the Cargo Bay section. I went straight there after Igwe told me he was heading to my office but Tamiko and Austin were already dead and all the turrets were toast. Luckily I had saved right before Igwe's call and reloaded. This time everyone was fine. Arkane really fumbled so many of the critical details in this game.

Be very careful in the fitness center area and really any area with gas pipes- if any mind controlled humans explode when you kill them, they could set the pipes on fire. Other humans in the area may die to environmental damage. The safest thing to do is Mindjack the human hopefully away from any action and then wrench em once it is safe to do so.

I felt like I went into sufficient detail about the fitness center, even labelling where most of the humans spawn/are standing. I warned about the one behind the door as he can sometimes try to get you as soon as the door opens, but the others give you plenty of room in the hallways if you are careful enough.

Also, my suggestions to frequently save and check your humans killed stat should give you a good indicator if something went wrong. I suggest this at the beginning of the guide, and even it mention again in the very same Crew Quarters/Fitness Center section of the guide!

As for your second point, that is exactly what I already did, you can see I mention the Cargo Bay before the Power Plant but avoid numbering the inhabitants there until later on when you are expected to return and kill them.

Ilyushin is numbered correctly as you can kill her as soon as you see her.

And Igwe is also numbered correctly considering he is number 41 out of 42 I wouldn't consider him to be numbered too early!

Don’t know if this will happen every time but if you don’t kill the cook before you go into the fridge I couldn’t get it to register the kill, in the stats, when he’s in the escape pod.
Shot him, let the recycler kill him, stunned him first and then killed him and none registered the kill in the stats.

My first time through Crew Quarters, I ended up with 22 kills, so I missed one. Turns out it was Franz Klinge in the Cafeteria. As I was going through with the scope to make sure they were all there before killing the Telepath, I noticed that Franz Klinge's head would explode when he got near the kitchen window. I have no idea why, since he didn't see me, and I wasn't close enough for him to make his own head explode.

I can only assume the cook shot him from the window? So I made sure to book it to him once I got to the cafeteria, to shoot him before his head would explode for no reason.

I made sure to head to the Pool area first, as people here were suggesting, so I didn't have any issues with the people walking into that fire spray.

***I and It is shown in part 16 below.***

This is a guide to fully complete the game Prey. I will be showing you how to obtain all of the game's achievements and trophies, including the collectibles for: Press Sneak, Missing Persons, Psychometry, Dear Future Self, Black Market, and TranStar Gourmand. I'll also show you how to save and kill everyone (in separate playthroughs of course) for I and It, Do No Harm, and I and Thou. In the first playthrough, I'll be showing you all of the collectibles, all miscellaneous achievements, and completing the game with no kills and in the "most empathetic" way as well as using no Neuromods for the No Needles achievement/trophy.

Afterward, I will show you where to find all of the crewmates on your second playthrough and how best to kill them for I and It and Awkward Ride Home.

**Note that for Split Affinity, you will need to reload at the end of your first playthrough and use one Typhon neuromod, then complete the last few seconds again to get that to count as your first playthrough. Then, complete your second playthrough in a new campaign slot, and make sure that you only use human neuromods throughout that playthrough.

For the I and It playthrough, be sure to keep saves outside of major areas so that you can reload if any NPCs die without you having personally killed them. There will be 42 people you need to kill, so keep checking your tracker to make sure that the count adds up.

Hello guys !

/!\ There are some spoilers in this guide so read at your own risks !

For this achievement you'll need to kill all humans in Talos I and around the base by yourself ! So humans can't be killed by Typhons or by suicide so be really careful about that point,i ruined a full walkthrough due to that.

The best way to kill humans is to kill them at long range or you can stun them with the Disruptor Stun Gun and finish them at close combat.

You must be at 42 humans killed in your stats screen to obtain this achievement. (thanks Heraizen for the tip !)

Here's a list for the humans that you need to kill (don't hesitate to comment if i miss a thing).

In order:

Talos I Lobby:

1 man locked in the Trauma Center

Psychotronics:

Aaron Ingram (you need to kill it by yourself, not with the Mimics !)

Arboretum:

3 people in the green house: Rani,Rodney S. Poole and Mickey Pitt Sr. (be careful to the Telepath,he mustn't kill the humans !)

Crew Quarters:

Most of the humans in the game are in this zone.I don't know the exact number but by memory there's nearly 19 persons in Crew Quarters.

Also Luka (aka Will Mitchell) the psychopath.

*Save Igwe from his container.I'm not sure if it counts as your kill if you open it.During my walkthrough i saved him (to kill him in a better way muahahaha !)*

Cargo Bay:

- 7 soldiers (including Sarah Elazar)
- 1 woman at 2nd floor
- Igwe if you want

*If you plan to do the Awkward Ride Home cheevo kill them all AFTER Igwe calls you to tell you that he's in your office. And kill Igwe after incapacitate Dahl.

Life Support:

The 4 people in the "Showing Initiative" side quest for Dahl. (be careful to the many Typhons. You need to kill them all by yourself !)

Power Plant:

Mikhaila Ilyushin (after rebooting the reactor)

Shuttle Bay:

Frank and Manuella during the "Escape Attempt" side quest (use directly the escape pod console without destroying the locks outside)

Dahl (but will void the "Awkward Ride Home" cheevo so save before or you can kill it later with Igwe after incapacitate Dahl)

Talos I Bridge:

The crew inside the shuttle during the "Shuttle Advent" side quest.Make sure you choose the Remote Detonate Scuttle Charges option on the Captain's Loft console.

Arboretum:

Alex Yu (Push the fat guy !)

*Achievement unlocked !*

If you don't have the achievement after killing all of them, there's 2 options:

- you missed someone
- one guy is killed by a Typhon or by suicide

So save a lot and with different slots before each location. It's better to restart 1 or 2 hours instead of the whole game, believe me.

Have fun guys ! Don't hesitate to put a like,it's still good to see and to make more early guides in the future. Also don't hesitate to comment my guide if you have any problems/tips.Thanks ! toast

What about the mind controlled human that gets killed by the "cook" shortly after you enter the crew quarters? Do you need to rush to the kitchen to kill that one yourself, or is it a scripted death?

It's scripted. One is dead each time and the other is unconscious. You need to kill the 2nd :)

Yeah i didn't try to kill him.I got my cheevo without that and i think it's too risky to try it.You need to save just before.

But it's a good option for those who missed one guy :)

Just a note, the guy in Quarantine has to either be Mindjacked first, or must be killed in one shot. Otherwise, he'll explode, and won't count towards your kills. I'm not sure if this is true of all mind controlled humans, or just him.

It's in Data > Stats and it is one of the first 10 entries in the list. Note, that you can only see the stat if your kills are above 0 (so if you haven't killed anyone yet it won't be there).

Also it's actually "Humans Killed".

Has anyone had issues going back to the Cargo Bay and a phantom killing off some crew? Happeneded by chance on my first playthrough want to make sure it doesn’t repeat this time.

@Cpt Obvious1994 - You are incorrect sir. Mind-controlled heads explode when killed, unless you incapacitate them with the Stun Gun first. Regardless, as long as they die by your hand (not by suicide/typhon) and the humans killed counter rises, it counts. I tested this very thing. 👍

You can also check your stats to see how many people you have killed, so if you keep an eye on that number and make sure it goes up after every kill you can know it counted. Apparently the number needs to be at 42 to get the achievement. Thanks for the guide!

Just a small note that could help: You don't technically have to kill every unique, individual person on the station, just get the 'Humans Killed' counter to 42.

So for example: Towards the end of the game I'd realised that at some point I'd missed one person (probably failed to kill a mind-controlled civillian!), so hoping for a work-around I went into the Cargo Hold and took out the glitched Dr. Igwe 'clone'. This bumped the stats to 39, and after killing Dahl, Alex, and Igwe for a second time the achievement popped.

Still not a large margin for error... but it's a very small safety-net in case of emergencies!

EDIT: Just to add so that nobodies 'chieveo hunt is interrupted: killing the 'Clone Igwe' does stop any subsequent quests from activating, so you're unable to get the 'Awkward Ride' achievement, for example. But I see no reason he can't be takin' out afterwards. : )

This is one of the trickiest achievements in the game. There are 42 kill-able humans in the game, and all of them must die by your hand. That means they can't be killed by Typhons or by suicide (including mind-controlled humans exploding their own heads). I recommend killing them at a long distance or by using the Disruptor stun gun and then finishing them off in close range. When you kill a telepath, any humans it controlled will drop to the ground unconscious, but not dead. Make sure to kill them.

Thankfully you can check your stats in the menus to see how many humans you have killed. Every time you encounter a human, save your game and kill them, then check your stats to make sure it went up by one. I'd also make a save every time you enter a new area, just to be sure that by the end you have them all. Sometimes mind-controlled humans will walk into environmental hazards, like electricity or fire, and the kill will not count for you. If you think you are missing one, you can use a security terminal to look up their name. Most of them do not have to be done in a certain order, but I included the order I did them in, and some tips on how to find and kill them.

1. Talos 1 Lobby - Trauma Center - Trevor J. Young
2. Psychotronics - V-090655-13 (Aaron Ingram)

  • Note: He is locked inside a glass cell. Open the door and kill him, do not release the mimic.

3. Arboretum - Mickey Pitt Sr.
4. Arboretum - Rani Chaudhary
5. Arboretum - Rodney S. Poole
6. Crew Quarters - Carlos Popinga
7. Crew Quarters - Bernard Griffith
8. Crew Quarters - Indigo Lake
9. Crew Quarters - Caleb Hawethorne
10. Crew Quarters - Lisa Larson
11. Crew Quarters - Vincent Schubel
12. Crew Quarters - Franz Klinge
13. Crew Quarters - Jillian Quigg
14. Crew Quarters - Phong Vu
15. Crew Quarters - Gary Snow
16. Crew Quarters - Emma Beatty
17. Crew Quarters - Oliver Benoit
18. Crew Quarters - Ike Stewar
19. Crew Quarters - Daniel London
20. Crew Quarters - Salman Kapoor
21. Crew Quarters - Harvey Clausen
22. Crew Quarters - Mary Malinaro
23. Crew Quarters - David Branch
24. Crew Quarters - 24– V-010655-37 (Luka Golubkin/Will Mitchell)

  • If you don't kill Luka here, you can find him later on the Bridge. Make sure to kill him yourself, don't let the Recycler Charge finish him or let him bleed out.

At this point you should get an optional quest to save Dr. Igwe. Go save him and DON'T kill any of the people in the Cargo Bay...yet. Make sure none of them are killed when you open the door. Eventually Igwe will call you and let you know he is in your office. Now you can return to the Cargo Bay and kill everyone (Dr. Igwe might still be here but leave him alone for now).

25. Cargo Bay - Sarah Elazar
26. Cargo Bay - Austin Cool
27. Cargo Bay - Alfred Rose
28. Cargo Bay - Darcy Maddox
29. Cargo Bay - Ekaterina Mulsaev
30. Cargo Bay - Kevin Hague
31. Cargo Bay - Sam Hertz
32. Cargo Bay - Tamiko Hayashi

33. Power Plant - Mikhaila Ilyushin

These next two will tell you to go outside and blow the hatch manually to allow them to escape. Instead, go to the maintenance panel and launch Pod 2. This will cause the pod to explode, killing them both.

34. Shuttle Bay - Frank Jones
35. Shuttle Bay - Emmanuella DeSilva

Eventually Dahl will call you and give you the quest "Showing Initiative". These four people only spawn during this quest.

36. Life Support - Harley Grainger
37. Life Support - Maxine Ford
38. Life Support - Richard Coveney
39. Life Support - Steve Folson

In your office, Dr. Igwe will give you the "Incapacitate Dahl" quest. Dahl will be waiting for you with an ambush set. Instead of killing him right away, knock him out with the Disruptor Stun Gun. We will deal with him soon. Now continue the story until you come face-to-face with your older brother. Greet him with your wrench.

40. Arboretum - Alex Yu

Later in the story Dr. Igwe will tell you to meet him in the Neuromod Division to remove Dahl's neuromods. After a brief discussion, the doors to the operating area will open, and you can kill him.

41. Neuromod Division - Dr. Igwe

This would be a good time to grab the "Awkward Ride Home" achievement as well. Make a special save here, then kill Dahl to unlock "I and It".

42. Shuttle Bay - Dahl

Now reload to your earlier save. With everyone dead and Dahl still alive, activate the self-destruct sequence to destroy Talos 1. Dahl will tell you his shuttle is leaving, so hurry over to the Shuttle Bay and board his ship. "Awkward Ride Home" should unlock soon after.

Note: On the Bridge there is a terminal tracking an escape pod on its way to Seattle. You can destroy the pod with the terminal, but this won't add a kill to your stats, so it is not required for the achievement. Throughout the story there are characters who are killed by the Typhon; these deaths are scripted and cannot be interrupted, and are also not required for the achievement.
