How to unlock the Contract Fulfilled achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide
After the credits roll, you’ll discover that your save file has been rendered useless. Pressing continue will only return you to the ending cutscene. This means unlocking all of Mooncrash’s achievements seemingly makes it impossible to keep your DLC save file for more playthroughs. If you don’t mind having to start a new game, then you’re done and you can safely ignore the steps below.
However, if you want to continue playing Mooncrash with all of your installed neuromods, fabrication plans, chipsets, research, keycards, and sim points intact while also unlocking all of its achievements, this is what you need to do:
This method takes advantage of the Xbox One cloud saving feature. Carefully follow each instruction.
1) Play normally but don’t complete the objective for escaping with all five crew members in a single run. Eventually, you’ll find yourself with 26/27 orders completed and all achievements unlocked except for “No One Left Behind,” Contract Fulfilled,” and “Cryptomancer.” Also, you should have more than 50,000 sim points saved up. Ideally, double that amount.
2) When your save file is primed and ready to tackle the final objective, return to the main menu and idle for a little bit. Be sure that you are online as well. The goal here is ensure our current save state is synced up with Xbox Live.
3) Quit the game and return to the dashboard. Idle here too for a few minutes, so there's more than enough time for our saves to be uploaded. Go to “Settings,” then “Network Settings,” and select the option to “Go offline.” Be absolute sure that you are OFFLINE and not connected to Xbox Live.
4) Start up the game and select continue on your Mooncrash save. The idea here is to complete the final KASMA order and fulfill the requires for the final three achievements while offline. Use this guide if you need help escaping with all five crew members in a single run. And make sure there are at least 50,000 sim points when you finish.
5) With the final KASMA order in the bag, you will be booted from the simulation and your employers will try to kill you. Quickly grab the helmet next to the window and retrieve the KASMA Command Key from the Datavault Operator. Float towards the opened hatch in the ceiling and to the admin terminal. Plug in the Command Key and select “Orbital Management” and “Decommission.”
6) Skip or watch the credits. When you find yourself back at the main menu, quit the game.
7) Press when highlighting Prey’s game tile and select “manage game & add-ons.” Go to your saved data. Now, delete your save file. Don't worry, we're only erasing the local copy that’s on your HDD. There is still a backup located on the cloud.
8) Return to Network Settings and select “Go online.” Wait until you are properly reconnected to Xbox Live.
9) Start up Prey. After you pass the start screen, the game will download your save file from the cloud. (This might take several minutes if you have a lot of saves from the main game.) Because we last synced our save file before completing the final KASMA order, you can now jump back into the Mooncrash simulation. Just never complete that last objective.
10) With any luck, the three final Mooncrash achievements should unlock at the main menu after a few minutes. However, sometimes it may take Xbox Live up to 24 hours to retroactively unlock achievements whose requirements were met offline. Thankfully, I discovered another trick that usually speeds up the process:
Also, Riley sucks. Lame escape quest. Lame skill tree. Felt the need to randomly state that to get it off my chest.
I believe LSCNeo42 saved the Volunteer's story objective for his 27th and final objective. That's probably where the confusion comes from. You can choose any of the objectives to be the last one, but I'd suggest the "5 escapes in a single run" because it's hard to accidentally complete that one.
(I agree that Riley is one of the weaker characters, along with Joan, but there are some things you can do to compensate. Give her a shotgun for damage and a stun gun for disabling enemies. Her Psychoshock is decent when paired with Psi boosting chipsets and abilities.)
There are a total of 27 KASMA Orders that must be completed over the course of your playthrough. These objectives can be viewed at any time in the Character Selection Menu or in the "Objectives" tab of your in-game transcribe.
These objectives are fairly straightforward and can be completed in any order. The story-related objectives specific to a character will have HUD markers to assist you along the way. Once you complete the last of these KASMA Orders, the achievement will unlock.
NOTE: As yet another reminder, you will be pulled out of the simulation and Mooncrash will officially end once you complete the last KASMA Order (which should be a character-related story objective). As mentioned previously, make sure you have planned accordingly, unlocking all of the other achievements in the game (minus "Cryptomancer" and "Quantum Leap") prior to completing your last KASMA Order.
This achievement is story-related and cannot be missed.
