How to unlock the Cryptomancer achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide
For this Achievement you have to finish all Kasmas’s objective to finish the game and have more than 50.000 as the in-game currency (sim point) in your possession. You do not need to get 50.000 for a single run. It is cumulative.
Warning! After you have done all the objectives and escaped with 5 characters in 1 run you are forced to start a new game and will lose all your progress. So be careful!

Warning for anyone doing this, achievement doesn't pop until after the credits are done, almost had a heart attack over that.

A word of warning. Spoilers about the end of the game.
This achievement unlocks after the credits after you complete the DLC. Make sure you have over 50,000 sim points before you complete the final KASMA order.
After you get booted out of the simulation and speak to your handlers, DON'T do what I did and fly straight up to the console in the back of the ship. MAKE SURE you pick up the helmet off of the wall and the command key from the operator.
I didn't do that and went straight to the console but I couldn't do anything without the key, and I had no idea what to do so I wasted a lot of seconds. To top it off, the game auto saved up there with like 13 seconds left on the timer, so I was stuck in a cycle of death. Luckily I managed to fly back down and grab the helmet with like one second left which gives you infinite time to do whatever you need to do. If I wasted just one more second, I would have had to replay the entire DLC.
Tl;dr: Pick up the damn helmet!!

For context, finishing the game means finishing the final KASMA orders for your contract. You have until you fulfill the final one to accumulate the 50,000 points needed.
Points are gained by doing certain things within the simulation.
Killing any and all typhon (with extra points for sneak and critical attacks)
Finding schematics and chip-sets
Reparing objects
Hacking computers
Escaping from the simulation (with bonus points for escaping with multiple crew)
Completing crew story objectives
Completing KASMA objectives
dying (yes you get points for dying)
It can be easy to rack up points if you do a lot of exploring, however it can be just as easy to lose them. Points are used to spend on your loadout. Weapons, ammo, chipsets, medical supplies, and things like control modules, emp charges etc. If you die you will lose any items you had on you (though its possible to recover the items in the subsequent run if your corpse is able to be found).
Before you complete your final KASMA objective (which can be done in any order you choose) make sure you have at least 50,000. I recommend that this is the last achievement you go for as the DLC is quite different from the main game and random deaths are not uncommon. Also it can be quicker to use a large portion of your SIM points to buy neromods for the Galaxy Brain achievement.

This achievement is missable.
After every successful escape from the Moonbase simulation, you will be awarded Sim Points for enemies killed, objectives completed, fabrication plans and chipsets found, and other smaller feats. Fortunately, this achievement is very straightforward and because you will be running through the simulation several times due to the "Galaxy Brain" achievement, you should easily have more than 50,000 Sim Points by the time you complete your final KASMA Order and officially complete the game.
