How to unlock the The Gates of Hell achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide

During the main story, you will eventually find yourself in an area called Shipping and Recieving, with a quest of the same name. You'll find a group of survivors huddled around a large door with many enemies on the other side. You need to open the door and kill all the enemies without a single person being killed.

This might look difficult at first, but its actually pretty straightforward; unless you hack the door open, you're going to be asked to find a turret fabrication plan and then secure the door with some turrets. You'll need two turrets deployed and pointed at the door to gain the trust of the character with the door code. In order to prevent anyone from dying, just go above and beyond with the door defense. More turrets means an easier achievement!

For a guaranteed win (tested it several times, to be sure I wasn't just getting lucky!) use five turrets. You can find several of them lying around the area, and fabricate another two. Make sure the turrets are all hacked if you have too many alien neuromods, and have all of them fortified. When you open the doors, get ready with a psyshock or a nullwave transmitter and use either on the weaver. The turrets will take care of the rest with no issue.

when should this unlock I've tried a few times now. 7 people there before I open it 7 standing after everything is dead. But the objective hasn't completed still telling me to destroy the typhons.

Seems others have this issue https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKoNXsgrCBY comments on the PowerPyx guide suggest you need to reload a save from before the cargo bay. Hope I still have one.

Interesting. I did not have this problem, fortunately (well, fortunately for me anyway). The achievement should pop as soon as the last alien is dead, assuming no crew members were killed in the process. The notification appeared for me before the first line of crew member dialogue finished playing.

Three turrets and throw a recycle-nade. Place turrets almost touching the door if the turrets want to shoot you.

Built 3 for a total of 5, then opened the door and triggered combat focus and rolled a couple of recycler grenades. Overkill, but only took 5 seconds to kill everything lol

I just got this by accident and thought I'd look at the guide after. What I did was to stack alot of boxes infront of the door before opening it, so there was no line of sight between the survivors and the Typhon. Opened the door, hopped on top of my barricade and went postal with the shotgun! Didn't even need the turrets!

I love Chimp's idea! Fortified, hacked turrets worked a dream for me.

Didn’t even realize this was an achievement haha. I placed 3 turrets facing the door, opened it, used the shotgun and they all died in like 5 seconds

During the main story you will be in the Cargo Bay with a group of survivors. In order to continue you will have to open a large door holding back a horde of Typhon. To unlock this achievement you will have to defeat them all without losing a single one of the survivors. This is easier than it sounds. You will need to place two turrets in order for Captain Elazar to trust you enough to open the door. Instead, go above and beyond and place five or even six turrets. You can find them scattered around the Cargo Bay, and you can find a fabrication plan nearby so that you can build your own.

With the turrets all set up, type in the code to open the door and run back and take position. As soon as the doors open, toss in a Nullwave Transmitter to prevent their ranged attacks, and fire away. Your team should make quick work of the Typhon, and the achievement will unlock.
