After visiting Dr. Calvino's Lab you will make your way back to your office and you'll meet January for the first time. Make a save here and kill her/him for the achievement/trophy and don't worry, it wont fight back.

As you complete the Through a Glass Darkly main story objective, it will end with you returning to your office and watching a video on the computer. After the video is completed, January will be spawned from one of the machines and she will begin talking to you. Make a Quick Save and then kill her to get this achievement. I would recommend using Quick Load afterwards to keep her alive and she is helpful later on in the game.

I just wanted to add that you can kill January at any point past "Through a Glass Darkly" and still get the achievement. However, as included in other solutions, make a save, a quick-save will suffice before doing so.

I waited until "Before I give you the keys" went back to my office and killed him and the achievement still popped.

I'm not sure if the achievement still works towards the ending sequences of the game, see the spoiler area for more information.

You can unlock this trophy by killing January the first time you meet in your office and then reloading your save (a later trophy depends on January still being around).

Or if you’re playing through to the end of the game, following the nullwave option will force you to shoot January anyway. The trophy will still unlock even though it’s the last thing you do in the story.

When you first visit your own office you will meet the operator January.
Just shoot it dead.

You get this during the main mission to 'Speak with January'. Head back to your office and speak with January, earning you:

After speaking with January, make a manual save of the game. After saving, proceed to shoot and kill January. Upon doing so, the trophy will unlock. Reload your save afterwards.

After repairing the Looking Glass server connection in Hardware Labs, return to your office in the Talos 1 Lobby. Resume watching the video you left yourself. Once it is over, January will appear and introduce him/herself. I'd recommend saving your game here. Then destroy January. They won't fight back, and the achievement will be yours. Then reload your save, because January will be helpful throughout the story.
