How to unlock the A Different Side of Yu achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide

To unlock this achievement you need to install the Morph ability: Phantom Shift.

This is unlocked by scanning 2 Etheric Phantoms (4 for Phantom Shift II).

If you have the Speedscan Scope Chipset you will only need Phantom Shift I, otherwise you will need to unlock Phantom Shift II.

Once you are prepared simply equip your Psychoscope and activate Phantom Shift with cn_LT, quickly turn around and you will notice a Phantom Double of you in your original position, the Psychoscope will scan it when you look at it.

This one, and a few other achievements weren't unlocking for me. It may have been because of issues caused by resuming from standby without restarting the game...

I was able to load a backup save (from my human-only campaign in this case), quickly unlock the mods required, and get these to unlock.

I was able to get this by using Combat Focus right after casting Phantom Shift I, without the Speedscan.

This one won't unlock for me. I got every other achievement in the base game except this one. I tried reloading a save from a finished game to get some of the other typhon achievements and they unlocked, but I tried this and it wouldn't unlock. I tried from a new game and it just won't unlock. Very annoying since this should be one of the easiest ones. Other achievements popped after trying this so I know my achievements work. Figured I'd put it out there in case anyone else had this problem.
EDIT: So apparently it took 24 hrs or so to register. I came back the next day and it didn't show it popped, but I had unlocked it.

A Different Side Of Yu Achievement/Trophy Guide

Once you have the ability to use Typhon skills, you will need to scan 2 Etheric Phantoms to unlock the Phantom Shift Skill. Once unlocked, use the skill which will send you dashing forward then turn around and quickly scan your phantom.

If you are having trouble with this still you can always scan 2 more Etheric Phantoms and upgrade the skill to rank 2 or you can find the Speedscan Scope neurochip set that allows you to scan objects faster which can be found in Psychotronics.

You need to turn around and scan your duplicate before it disappears. It doesn't last long, however, so you may have to upgrade to "Phantom Shift II" or equip the Speedscan Scope Chipset to give you more time. You can also use the human ability "Combat Focus" to slow down time. Once it is scanned the achievement will unlock.
