How to unlock the Abandon Ship achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide

Abandon Ship Achievement/Trophy Guide

This is a multi-layered questline which is started after you meet January for the first time. Once you head to Psychotronics you will get a call from another robot named December who will want to meet you in the Neruomod Division.

Make your way there and you will either be tasked and given a waypoint to find a note left by Alex near where you started the game or if you found the note you will see January kill December instantly. Walk over and loot Decembers body for a randomly generated code for Alex's safe.

Once you reach the Arboretum you will find Alex's office and the safe with an audio log inside, loot this and follow the objective to the crew quarters. Now that you're here you can either Hack the elevator or find the keycard around the area (there are multiple) to reach the executive floor. Find Sam's room and you will see a globe next to the bed and under this globe you will find the escape pod key.

Now head back to Alex's office and use his computer (level 4 hacking needed) to extend the bridge to the escape pod. Go upstairs, enter it and leave the station.

Are you able to revert to a previous save after doing this or is this considered finishing the game.

You can indeed! But it goes to a game over screen anyway and reloads your save just before you got in it.

I was able to get to the pod without extending the bridge... helpful if you don't have level 4 hacking. Get to the highest part of the roof and then you can jump over to the large metal girders and walk along the edge of them, then climb onto the pod platform.

You don't need level 4 hacking. You can climb to the highest part of the roof. Then jump up to the girder. You can then jump through the gap and onto the sloped metal. Once you're here, run across to the end, then jump over to the pod.

Loot the crates, get into the pod and complete the objective.

When done it goes to a game over screen and reverts back to your latest save.

Alex will also give you the password for his computer if you fulfill his request.

the achievement doesn't pop for me. It might be delayed, but visiting club didn't unlock it either, I've done it and reloaded several times over and nothing. I did the quest the last step is to flee using the pod. maybe it's glitched on 1 x

Same problem here, but I see JakThaTIPP3R84 has the achievement now so I assume I just need to wait?

I went to bed and tried again today. Reloaded the save and got aboard the escape pod, it popped first try.

I'm late to the party, but I wanted to add that you don't need to hack/extend the bridge. If you climb to the top of his office, atop the roof (if you unlocked being able to jump high enough) you can jump up to the left side of the scaffolding and walk down and then jump to the platform with the escape pod. Just an alternative route.

Thumbs up on the guide. smile

The achievement appears to be glitchy. As with @tobiasvl & @JoeyPajamas, it did not pop on the Series X at first. I did a power cycle to clear the cache & still no luck. However, when I went to a second Series X console, the achievement popped immediately.

As a consequence, I recommend making a save right outside the escape pod to minimize time wasted in case of an achievement bug.

This is a multipart sidequest called "Who is December?". It will begin after you meet January for the first time. He/she will direct you to go towards Psychotronics. On your way you will receive a call from another robot called December. He/she will tell you to go to Neuromod Division instead to find a key you left yourself before you lost your memory. However, Alex has found the key first and left you a note.

As you return to December, he/she will be killed by Janurary. Search December's body for a code to Alex's safe in his office in the Arboretum. In the safe there is a keycard for Alex's private quarters in the Executive Suites in the Crew Quarters. The escape pod key is hidden under a globe in his room. With the key in hand, return to the Arboretum and use his computer to extend the bridge. This requires either waiting for Alex to give you the code later in the game, Level 4 Hacking, or some very tricky climbing. Save your game and enter the escape pod to flee Talos I.

The game will end shortly, but since it is not an actual ending, it will make you reload a previous save. The achievement should unlock then.
