How to unlock the Apex Predator achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide
1- Using the volunteer (Andrius Alekna), use kinetic blast from a vantage point and take cover in between attacks. A few successful blasts should kill it.
2- Throw a typhoon lure close to a tentacle nest. The tentacle nest will kill the moon shark for you effortless. Alternatively, you can also use the a typhoon tentacle grenade (the name escapes me) and throw it at the moon shark, the result should be roughly the same.
3- Grab hold of a psy blade (you can find an elite psy blade in Pytheas Lab in the room next to the one with the mimic portal) and attack the moon shark from mid-range
Once you have escaped the Moonbase simulation for the first time, you will then be introduced to the Moonshark on your subsequent playthrough. This Typhon enemy roams the Crater area of the Moonbase, is a little smaller than a Nightmare, and deals a devastating amount of damage, including bleeding trauma.
The easiest way to get this achievement is to wait until you have unlocked the Engineer (she will be available for use after escaping with the Volunteer on your first run) and using her turret against the Moonshark. This is best done by entering the Crater of the Moonbase to trigger the Moonshark and then backing up into the corridor you just exited. Summon your turret on the walkway ahead of you and poke your head out long enough to lure the Moonshark to your position. At this point, the turret should open fire on the Typhon and chip away at its health.
Please note the following: first, you may have to lure the Moonshark out a few times (it may flee after taking a bit of damage); second, the Moonshark may hurl rocks at your turret while its firing, which means you'll need to set it back up or, if it's destroyed, wait until your ability cools down to summon it again.

This achievement is missable.
