How to unlock the Quantum Leap achievement in Prey - Definitive Guide
The general direction is: unlock character – escape – complete story objective, which will take several runs.
Due the levels being randomly set up, there is no definitive method how to do these runs.
It is advised to do a couple of runs to unlock abilities for your characters, and to get familiar with the general layout of the map.
It is also a good idea to rack up some sim points and reset the simulation before starting a Story Objective so you can start with good gear and a low corruption level.
Every Story Objective must be done in one sitting, a complete objective is saved and stays completed even after a reset of the simulation.
Recommended gear:
- Shotgun and ammo (for damage)
- Distruptor Stun Gun and ammo (to bypass Typhon walls)
- Medkit (there is always one laying at the starting area)
- 3_ASIC MicroMiner+ chipset (extra Sim Points earned)
The guide will use the following format:
- Crew member
- How to unlock the character
- [Story objective]
- How to unlock the objective

Of the 27 KASMA Orders you are required to complete, five of these are related to completing specific story-driven objectives for each of the five characters. These story objectives are split into two parts, the first requiring you to escape the simulation with the character in a specific manner.
Please take note that for the Volunteer's story objective, which is somewhat nuanced compared to the others, you will need to escape via the Mimic Portal in Pytheas Labs. In order to do this, however, you will first need to repair the Portal with Joan, the Engineer, and then hack the terminal with Claire, the Custodian, on previous playthroughs of the same run.
As another reminder, the simulation officially ends once all of the KASMA Orders have been completed. It's highly recommended to make sure you keep at least one of the story objectives incomplete so that you can obtain all of the other achievements in this add-on (minus "Cryptomancer" and "Contract Fulfilled") before finishing the game definitively.
This achievement is story-related and cannot be missed.
