They look a little different than before, but that might just be because I haven't seen them in a couple years. It looks like he still shows how to get all the light seeds though.

EDIT: Well, it seems escencede decided to delete all his guides for Prince of Persia from his account. I can't seem to find any other complete video guides out there, so for now, I'll have to just link you to the text guide on Gamefaqs. http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/945943-prince-of-persia/faqs... It still gets the job done, but it'll be a little tougher without being able to see it in a video. I'll keep my old solution down there in the off chance he puts the videos back up.

OLD SOLUTION: I found escencede's video guides to be much better than Mahalo's videos, as Mahalo tends to wander aimlessly half the time.

These are by far the best videos to use. However its a complete walkthrough, so I suggest you skip videos and only use the ones that have '(Seeds ?? of 45)' in the title to a void totally spoiling the game. GOOD FIND!!

These are very good; once you've followed them for a while you can play and follow along wiithout pausing :) Just a btw, google "999 light seed glitch" to ensure it doesn't happen to you!

Just to confirm, are there 1001 light seeds in the game? Will put a thumbs up once you change the guide to say whether there are 1001 or more.

The videos are still up as of March 24, 2019.

It would be helpful to add that the official last light seed #1001 is somewhat story-related after defeating Ahriman.


Also it might be helpful to note that while playing the game from beginning to end on Xbox One back compatible, I kept track of my seeds count regularly and it never glitched, but I might have just been one of the lucky ones.

Not so much a solution, but a little encouragement to those who are stuck with the 999 light seed glitch. I viewed all of the posted solution yet none of them mentioned anything about how to "avoid" or if there is a fix to the glitch.

My finding: the glitch is not avoidable, per se, and if you are lucky, you might not encounter said glitch. However, this does not PREVENT you from completing the light seed achievements! A HUGE tip I could offer to those who are now starting the game is to do your best to keep track of which light seed you are able to get and follow the video guides provided on TA's walkthrough. Keep track of how many seeds you have gathered according to the back button map and if they tally up to the total light seeds correctly. If not, save your game, reload a previous save file and see if the total number is still incorrect or not. This will help you pinpoint the precise moment the glitch occurred and thus, which stage is glitched and to resume searching that area for all of the light seeds available.

For example, take into consideration the stage "City Gate" of the "City of Light" series. This stage is available from the beginning of the game after you finish the first stage. Right away, you are able to get 40/45 light seeds available on that particular stage without using any Ormazd plates. There is 1 Blue Ormazd plate on that stage that will help you get 5 light seeds. Now, after comparing a couple of my save files, I realized my "City Gate" stage was listed 41/45. Glitched stage found! However, I wasn't able to pinpoint which seed caused the glitch if there was even a glitched seed. I proceeded to gather the 5 seeds from the blue plate and lo and behold:

So be vigilant in your search for the seeds. You may have encountered a similar glitch to mine, which does not prevent you from missing the achievement, but is a pain in the arse to find that missing seed. Save often and keep on searching!

I never found a way to cure this glitch. So infinitely depressing. Tried so hard, but was ultimately stuck with the glitch. Insane how Ubisoft didn't fix it. It's completely gamebeaking.

Anyway, several people seem to mention this particular stage as the glitched one ... hm, I wonder if it could help me to replay that one ... Thank you sincerely for the tip!

Sorry to hear that you are also stuck with the glitch :(

At least the game isn't very long so if you were to try a new file, maybe you'll have better luck! If you get tired of searching, take a break and come back again at some point. I hope you're able to find the missing piece toast

I started out using MahaloVideoGames's guide, but I switched over to NoKtoLive's light seed videos - they have been very helpful for me so far & much more concise.

There are 20 normal area’s with 45 Light seeds each, 4 area’s with 25 light seeds that you’ll get after defeating the boss in that area. That makes a total of 1000 light seeds. The last seed can be found after defeating the final boss in the palace and completing the final scene, this final seed cannot be missed.

You need a minimum of 540 Light Seeds to finish the game.

If you're having problems finding specific Light Seeds you can ask for help here (LINK). There are also a number of videos on YouTube that will help you find all of the Light Seeds.

Warning:
Make sure you save the game before going into the palace to fight the last boss because you can’t go back once you've entered the palace.

Light Seeds are the collectables of Prince of Persia and although they are tied to story progression, you only need 540 to complete the game. They are found scattered across all areas where the healing has been performed and are collected simply by running into them. You will notice that initially you have milestone targets to collect (60, 170, 340 and 540) and once those are reached, you can teleport to the Temple and activate a coloured Power Plate which will help you gain access to otherwise inaccessible areas throughout the game, which is an actual requirement to reach all of the light seeds.

It should be noted that there are only 1000 'collectible' Light Seeds which will be the amount you should have, before you enter the Temple for the final time as the last one is given to you during the final scenes of the game.

Caution:

On a final note, there are reports from around 2008/09 that people were experiencing a glitch where they were only able to obtain 998-999 Light Seeds (1000 to be precise as the last one you receive is post-game). It is unknown if this problem has since been fixed as information on it is hard to come by but there is additional information which seems to indicate the solution may lie in the City of Light owing to a strange glitch making one light seed count as two, see the Game Glitches FAQ for more info.
