How to unlock the Samuel Norton achievement in Prison Architect: Edition - Definitive Guide

Hi all! Now this isn't exactly a guide, but instead I'm gonna do my best to explain how I managed to get this achievement.

Ok ... so first things first. You're gonna want to have quite a few prisoners. This can be a little difficult to manage. I found that once you go past 150-200 they get pissed off quite easily so make sure you've got a good enough Regime to keep them somewhat satisfied, you're gonna want to have around 320 Prisoners (that's the total that I could house). Now ... once you've got your 320 Prisoners you're Daily Intake should be around $40-50K Intake and $35-40K Expenses. This'll leave your cash-flow at around $5-10K. (This'll differ depending on how many members of staff you've got and how many Reform Programs you've got running).

At this point you'll want to take in as many Prisoners as you can (this'll also net you the 500 Prisoners Achievement). Now the trick here is; Once you get around 500 - 600 Prisoners and just before they start kicking off and smashing up the place, go to your Programs and cancel any Reform Programs you've got available to your Prisoners. Next ... you'll want to go to the Staff page and fire every member of Staff that you've got. Now ... hopefully, this'll bump your cash-flow over the $50K requirement for the Achievement. It's important to note that you don't want to pay attention to your Daily Intake and Daily Expenses, instead you'll want to look at the Graph and Number in the top right of the screen, that's the value that you need to get over $50K for this achievement.

Another Tip / Trick that I recommend is going into the Game Options and setting Auto-Save to never & then Manually saving the game at a point where everything is going smoothly before you try this, that way if things go tits-up, you'll be able to just load up that save game and try again.

I hope this helps :) please feel free to comment and leave suggestions of things you can do differently to make this easier. Happy hunting!

Managed to get slightly over $50k but then the ~200 prisoners in my holding cell started killing each other, thus reducing my cash flow. The achievement didn't unlock, so I guess you need to be above $50k at the next full hour mark. Will try again soon.
