How to unlock the Mr. Versatility achievement in Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 - Definitive Guide

Go to "Football Life" on the main menu and start a new game in "Become a Legend" mode. When creating your player, choose an uncommon position like AM or SW as not many clubs use these positions in their formation. So when you're picked for the team, the coach will play you out of position.

To learn a new position, you'll need to play there as your assigned role for a few games (doesn't have to be consecutive, and friendly matches count too). Try to get a rating of at least 6.5 or more so your manager's rating of you in that position goes up and you stand a higher chance of playing there again.

You'll know you're on the right track when your agent tells you something like "I'm surprised. I never knew you could play there. Experience is all you need now."

I chose AM as my primary role and was used mainly as a SS or CM by my manager. I learned SS as my new role about 90% into the 1st season.

EDIT: If you want to get this solution much more quickly, edit a player's stats to 99 before you start "Be a Legend", and pick that player for your new game. You should have no problems scoring or making goals every time you're picked for the first team. It's possible to get this with as few as 11 sub appearances from the bench if you score goals every game. (Thanks to Neeker75)

I continued using Messi that I used for the learning a new skill achievement from your other guide, and after being a sub for about 10 games and scoring goals each time I came on, I got this achievement before the 11th league game. I had about 23 goals and 0 assists (lol).

Great idea. Can I add +1 for your improvement? :)

I started my career as a CF and never got the cheevo until I signed for Barcelona. They play with three SS. The coach will have no choice but to play you SS and after a couple of games the cheevo should pop up. Worth remembering if you started career as a WF too.

I used the method I suggested for debutant, I chose C. Ronaldo but before even starting the mode I went into [edit] and removed all of his positions (he has numerous, thus learning a new one would've proved difficult) bar SS.

This scenario worked as well as I hoped since I picked a team that only plays a CF, the rest were midfielders, after playing roughly 10 - 12 games, your agent should mention how he was surprised that you were learning the position and a few games afterwards the actual trophy unlocked and in information it's mentioned how C. Ronaldo was able to play CF.

I'm actually not sure the specific number of matches I needed to play, but I do heavily suggest looking at the player you want to edit, as you'll want to keep the position of which the team doesn't actually play. Example which worked for me, Real Madrid not playing a SS, but my player was.
