I personally say go for the endurance races, they are 2 hours long which is quicker than doing most championships. You can race for 30 minutes, pit and let the AI do the rest of the race.

In pure driving time that is probably the best way to go but skipping the practice/qualifying then going straight for the race would generally be quicker in overall time

The championships have requirements that you must meet, before you get the invitation to access them:
LMP3 Rookie Euro Champion (7 tracks)
-> Win US or UK Rookie Cup earlier in this season
LMP3 Semi Pro Euro Champion (7 tracks)
->Win US or UK Semi Pro Cup earlier in this season
LMP2 World Champion (7 tracks)
-> Win American or Pan Europe Trophy earlier in this season
LMP1 World Champion (9 tracks)
-> Win American or Pan Europe Master earlier in this season
World Endurance Championship
-> ???
Formula A World Championship (19 tracks)
-> no further requirements
Formula B World Championship (7 tracks)
-> no further requirements
Formula C World Championship (7 tracks)
-> Win Asia-Pacific, Biritsh or US series in this season
Formula Gulf World Championship (2 tracks)
-> no further requirements
Formula Rookie World Championship (7 tracks)
-> Win German, US or UK challenge and then Euro Trophy in this season
GT3 Championship (8 tracks)
-> Win Asia-Pacific, UK or US Trophy in this season
GT4 Euro Championship (7 tracks)
-> Win Asia-Pacific, UK or US Trophy in this season
Ginetta G40 UK Challenge (5 tracks)

Kart One Champion (8 tracks)

TrackDay 25H Green Hell Madness
-> Complete 1000 Career Laps *
TrackDay 25H Panorama Madness
-> Complete 500 Career Laps
*Many people have problems to get this to unlock. Including me. I have seen a screenshot of someone racing up to season 64 and this is still locked. But there are people that get it to unlock, so it is not completely broken. But it is kinda fishy. For example I have the 25H Panorama event unlocked (requires 500 career laps), but the McLaren F1 Track Masters 3 HR event (requires 175 career laps) is still locked. The F1 Track Master event is not required for an achievement though.
And some additional things that might not be so obvious:
- You can go back to ALL your old invitations at the beginning of EVERY new season. So focus on the Zero to Hero achievement first and then you have all the time in the world to go back to the lower championships.
- In my opinion the endurance events are a good choice. Except for the endurance championship. Just a reference for one of the endurance races:
In TrackDay 25HR Panorama Madness. I skipped training and qualifying. So I started 30th and raced to 1st positon. Then I raced until I was around 40 second in front of 2nd. This took me 12-15 min. Then I drove into box and changed driver to AI. When the AI was back on track I was still 24 seconds in front of 2nd. The AI driver kept this distance steady for the rest of the race. I was a bit worried my AI driver would lose all the lead, but he kept it steady for the rest of the 1:45 hours and won the trophy and the Gold accolade for me.

Exactly what I was looking for, the number of races to finish a season, shame I didn't see this sooner as the Formula A appears to be the longest!
You're lucky that your AI driver is decent, to be fair the Madness one is the only one I haven't tried, but on the other three endurance races I had to take over every 30 minutes as the clown loses about 10 seconds a lap!
Is the Formula Gulf only 2 races...that's next for me then!

This is likely to be your last career achievement along with "Hall of Fame". To unlock this, you're required to collect 16 gold accolades which can be viewed within the Driver Network Profile (DNP). These accolades are mainly obtained by winning all major championships within each discipline. There are also 4 endurance races that can be done which will take at least 2 hours each.
New Endorsement deals are awarded for every two Gold Accolades that you unlock in the Career. There are a total of 20 Gold Accolades available to be won in the career: 16 can be earned by winning the final championship within each discipline, while the other 4 can be earned by winning one of the 24 or 25 hour endurance races. You will only need to earn 16 of these Gold Accolades though, so it is up to you whether or not you want to focus upon completing each discipline, or whether you would like to skip some disciplines and instead earn one of the Endurance related accolades.
Keep in mind that you should get one of the Endurance Gold Accolades for completing the LeMans 24H Endurance invitational event while earning the A Day In The Life trophy. You can check which Gold Accolades and Endorsements you have earned in your "Driver Network Profile" under the "Career" tab.
In order to go back and complete lower tiered seasons once you have reached LMP1, all you have to do is complete your current season. Once you are prompted to select a new contract for next season, scroll across in your inbox so that it displays contracts only. Here you will see a list of all the contract offers you have received throughout your career. There should be at least one contract from each discipline. They are free for you to accept at any point in your career once a season has ended so that you can go back and complete each discipline as you like and earn their Gold Accolades.
Keep in mind that Gold Accolades can only be earned once per final championship. Winning the LMP1 Championship 3 times will not give you 3 Gold Accolades. Only 1 for the first time that you win it.
