How to unlock the Sunday Driver achievement in Project Cars - Definitive Guide

Got the achievement with this method hope someone can confirm. confirmed

Set Transmission to manual, go to quick race weekend and select Azure Coast, add one AI Driver, and select an italian car (Pagani) and start the race.

When your at the starting grid simply jump the start but don't accelerate to hard because of the 31 mp/h limit. You will be disqualified and the achievement should pop.

*make sure that you have Flags and penalties turned ON in the gameplay settings, otherwise you won't be disqualified! - thanks to LL26xRoyst for the Info

If it`s not working for you try this, thanks to MrTylerGorden
I can confirm that as of today, this solution still works. What I had to do was to set it up where there are no other opponents. As the race is about to begin, set your vehicle into 7th gear and then false start. Worked first try for me after many failed attempts in 1st gear with an opponent.

It worked! smile Also, one other thing. I think you must do it with no opponents. I tried it with one other opponent multiple times and it didn't unlock. Once I set it to 0 opponents, and got disqualified from the starting line, it unlocked! smile

Ok what am I doing wrong? Using the Pagani, manual gears, 1 opponent, get disqualified and don't break the speed limit, why won't it unlock? Patched already?

Tried with 1 opponent then 0 and still nothing. Tried the "reverse method" nothing, then I changed the race date to an actual Sunday and it popped (also 7th gear with 0 opponents)

It isn't necessary to be in 7th gear-very bad for your engine lol. Just keep it in 1st and rev up some before releasing the brake. Worked first try (0 opponents).

Great solution!
You may want to add that Flags and Penalties should be set to "ON" in the Gameplay settings, otherwise you can't be disqualified for jumping the start.

50km/h is roughly 31mph

From the main menu choose 'Solo' and choose the Azure Coast Track and pick any Italian car from the following list:
Pagani Huayra
Pagani Zonda R

Now for the achievement you need to complete a lap of the entire circuit WITHOUT going over 50km/h/31mph. If you do go over those speeds the achievement will be void and you'll need to restart.

This will take about 30minutes to complete as the track is quite long. A manual transmission may help as you could put the car in a higher gear and not have to worry about the car accelerating as fast.

Alternatively with penalties ON you can simply jump the lights at the start line (without breaking 50km/h/31mph) and be disqualified which will still count. Just a thing to point out in nengun solutions's that worked for me, and a few other players in the comments.
It only worked for me when i set the number of opponents to 0. For some reason, while there was an opponent, the achievement was not popping.

This still works but make sure you have 0 opponents. I had 10 opponents no achievement set it to 0 it popped straight away.

We did it in an online session.
Just remove your lan cable or leave the game after start.
Back in the main menu, you will get the achievment.

2 Minutes, Easy going.

Um, did this by mistake. At the starting line kicked it into reverse at launch. no opponents, manual gears, penalties on. Race ended in 3-5 seconds, achievement popped. Doh!

Easy way to get the trophy is to turn on penalties and manual transmission, while the lights are counting down, accelerate no more 50 km/h. This will cause a penalty and the race to end.

This achievement can be cheesed otherwise it would be quite hard. Make sure Flags and Penalties are on and you have gears set to manual. Start a quick race on Azure Coast with one AI. When the lights show, pull off the line and you will be disqualified but don’t accelerate any further. This achievement will unlock in the results screen.

There are two methods available to earn this trophy. The first requires you to start a Quick Race Weekend, select an Italian Car, like the Pagani Zonda R, and drive the entire length of the Azure Coast while remaining under 50 km/h (31 mp/h). The best way to do this is to change your gearing to Manual and start the race in 7th gear. This way you will be able to more precisely manage your acceleration so that you do not go above 50 km/h. Completing the trophy this way will also take you roughly 20 minutes. Please see the following video for an example of this method:

The second and much quicker method, requires you to go into your Options and Help menu, followed by the Gameplay menu and turn Flags and Penalties to on. Select 0 A.I. opponent and make sure that your gearing is set to Manual. Before the lights turn green, shift into 7th gear and accelerate. You will be disqualified from the race for a false start, but you will still unlock this trophy and save yourself some time.
