I did this on expert mode to mop up. You most likely will get this when trying to unlock master mode by collecting the gold carts to 150 in one run on expert. If by some chance you don't get this while torturing yourself you can load back into level and simply go for the worms. If you get too big you can shoot yourself to make smaller. Happy hunting.

Highly recommend using the A button speed boost to check for worms on the Expert map, if you got your 150 achievement already (otherwise drive slow and safe). I mined until 26 cars to allow for a wider camera and swarmed the map for dig spots before worms emerged. Worms will only spawn in a line of 4-6 spots vertically or horizontal, so search away from congested areas of rock.

If this is the last achievement you're missing for the 100%, then I would suggest playing on Master.
I just drove around with only the gun out, shooting bombs and worms; they seemed to spawn pretty constantly (any time I died, there were at least 3 on the screen!)
Once you get to 40+ cars (shoot and collect 7 gold bombs), the screen zooms out (and then again at 120+); you shouldn't need to shoot yourself unless you see a worm on the other side of yourSnake Snaqe.
I've been using the D-Pad for directions as I found it way more precise. Don't forget to press
for that boost.

P.S., you can only kill the worms when they are still underground, or at least, I never managed to kill one mid-air.
