How to unlock the Certified Platinum achievement in Project Spark - Definitive Guide
There's no way around it, no cheating, no easy route... You need to build a game that's a lot of fun or unique enough to be spotted by Team Dakota and published to the featured feed which appears on the home screen of Spark. And even then you may not get many downloads.
I got incredibly lucky by getting so much attention for my Fable recreation back in beta, I don't think I'd ever have gotten this any other way. My only other published level so far only has 1779 downloads, and it's been up for about 3 months.
Some tips that might help:
Be active in the community! Get on project-spark.org and talk about your game, ask for feedback, make your game as polished as it can be. Get as many people as you can find to try and it hopefully share it with their friends.
Add an eye-catching screenshot! Your game needs to stand out in the massive lists of user generated content. Nobody clicks the ones with default screenshots of a blank world with a character stood in the middle of it.... So jump into test mode and pause the game at a cool moment or interesting looking landmark that shows off your level design, art style or interesting mechanic. From the pause menu, press 'screenshot' and use the flying camera to get a good angle, then just go back into edit mode and save your game again for the screenshot to be applied.
Be active on the official Team Dakota stream! A great way to get your game seen is on the official stream which happens here: twitch.tv/project_spark every Thursday at 3pm PDT and sometimes Tuesdays at noon PDT. The team often browse the user generated content feeds during the stream and always accept requests from the chat if they have time and if they see your message.
If you're not confident in Spark yet, ASK MESCAD! Project Spark is incredibly powerful but the in-game tutorials aren't very comprehensive at the moment. If you want to see what's really possible and learn not only the basics but also some incredibly complex stuff, take a look at Mescad's tutorials on youtube.com/mescad
Other than that you may need to just get really lucky. GOOD LUCK!

After the October update, this was made a lot easier.

Option 2: Leave your controller idle, on your character, not in a pause menu, for 90 minutes.

For this you now need to click on the game switch to offline and select play and then select crossroads. Stay in the game for 90 mins and exit back to main menu do not go through portal pause and exit. Game will freeze wait a min and pop!
