How to unlock the Furious Pursuit Badge achievement in PROJECT SYLPHEED - Definitive Guide
Hardest achievement in the game. This is done on level 9, and can be done on any difficulty (I did it on easy).
There are a lot of rumours about what the requirements are for this mission. Some people say you only need to hit a couple specific subobjectives, some say it's just kill count.
Firstly, pick these weapons: Twin Saber LG2H for the nose (though you won't use it much), Condor 105AM for main 1, Gray Head T76H or Cauldron 50 for main 2 (I used the Gray Head), and the Long Spear HBP for main 3. The Long spear and condor are the key, they're great for killing lots of fighters.
There are 3 parts for this mission, and I'll break down each of the three.
Part 1 has two subobjectives: All ships survive, and destroyed the enemies in a short time. I got both of these on my run. Use the long spear and condor to good use as it's mostly fighters on here. Just try and be quick.
Part 2 has 3 subobjectives: Defeat the Guilty Roses, defeat the guilty roses in a short time, and all ships survived. I did everything but destroy the guilty roses in a short time.
Part 3 is supposedly the important one, there are 3 subobjectives: destroy all enemies hiding in the terraforming facility, destroy all enemies, and all ships survived. I got the destroy all enemies hiding, and all ships survived. *I DID NOT GET THE DESTROY ALL ENEMIES OBJECTIVE* (though I tried very hard to get it).
In the end my stats for the mission were:
162 warplanes downed
75% kill ratio
B Rating
I didn't note how many warships were downed, but I killed every single one I saw.
I can confirm that you can't just get the destroy all hiding enemies subobjective, as I got that one many times and no achievement. The only subobjective I got in the successful run that I didn't in any of my others was the destroy all enemies quickly in part 1, so I think that one might be key. I figure it's either that, or just kill count.
Good luck!

6/8 Sub objectives. Missed to kill the Roses quickly and getting all enemies on the last part.
68% kill ratio with 147 warplanes and 23 warships with 5.4Mt in weight killed.
35590 points and a B ranking!
Failed to get the achievement. Played it on easy from mission select menu. Don't know what else to do! :(

First off just to confirm this is a time based achievement and not a kill based one, I was able to kill ever single ship in one play through and still not get it, including all sub-objectives bar this one. After trying on a couple of accounts I managed to work out how to get this medal every time.
In order to unlock this achievement you need to get the sub-objective "sink the enemies quickly". This is done in the first phase of the mission you need to defeat all the enemies in around or under 5 minutes in the first part of the mission. If done correct the admiral will congratulate you on a job well done. Now you must complete the remainder of the mission with out dying else you will lose the sub-objective.
If you die or retry from either phase 2 or 3 of the mission you will not get this achievement, you must complete the mission without dying from the start.
After all furious is just another word for fast.
As the others state this is found on Mission 9: Abandoned Planet

No dice, I obtained this sub-objective but a VERY low kill count (by other peoples unlock stats) of 87 and did not unlock the achievement.

I did not write this just found it on a forum on xbox360achievements credit goes to Ramiel for writing it, thought I would put it on here so people dont have to search all over for it like i did.
I've had tons of trouble with this too I just put it back in to see if I could get the last few I was missing.
There was an update don't know what that did, anyway I was on easy my two weapons that I used the most was:
Main weapon2 - Cauldron 50 Rockets, I use these for warships low ammo but high damage
Main weapon3 - Long Spear HBP, Great for all the small warplanes fast and high lock time high damage
For the first part I just went over to the warships taking out any warplanes on the way once the warships were gone I just took out the last of the warplanes.
Finished the first part with the all ships survive, and destroy all enemies in a short time.
The second part I did the same as the first took out the warships fast while taking out the warplanes, the Guilty Roses show up here too.
Finished this part with All ships survive and destroy the Guilty Rose
Again the third part is the same as the first two, later in the level more warships come from behind the terraforming facility.
Finished this one with Destroy enemies behind the terraforming facility, All ships survive, and Destroy all enemies
The only sub objective that I missed was destroy Guilty Rose's in a short time, I also finished with a B rank.
Hope this helps
the mission it is on is Number 9 Abandoned Plant i think is the name of it

So uhm, which level is this? :s

Agreed that this is by far the toughest achievement in the game not so much because of its difficulty, but because nobody can say for sure what the exact requirements are. As a result, some people may get this achievement right off the bat without even trying for it while some may struggle for hours. Now while I can't tell you for sure what you need, I can tell you what doesn't matter.
1) The difficulty. This achievement can be won on Easy, so why make it more difficult on yourself? Playing on harder levels only makes it more difficult to shoot down ships.
2) Your grade. Most people get a B after winning this achievement (I know I did). But some have gotten an A or better. It's actually kind of difficult to kill so many ships and not get a B or higher so for the most part, grade doesn't matter.
3) Kill ratio. Same deal as grade. I only had a 70% kill ratio when I won the achievement, but some had 78% or more. Just as with grade though, its tough not to get a kill ratio of 70 or above while killing enough ships.
4) Sub-objectives aside from killing all enemies in short time during the 1st phase and destroying the hidden terra-forming unit in the 3rd phase. Aside from those 2, people have won this achievement without accomplishing any of the other ones including the ones dealing with the guilty roses. I recommend though that you do at least destroy all the guilty roses in the 2nd phase if only to get your kill count up. Besides its so easy to kill them since they conveniently appear with this bright yellow marker on your hud.
5) Killing all enemies. You don't have to kill everything, but you do have to kill a lot. I downed about 150 planes when I won the achievement. Others did it at 170+ and still I have seen others claim to get it at 130. With warships, I took down 21 while most others have taken down around 25. So while we can't say for sure what are the exact minimum kill counts, the minimums based on what I've seen are 130 warplanes and 21 warships.
Lastly, here are a few notes for the mission and its specific phases. Some I admit are rehashes from other peoples advice.
- Condor 105AM missiles and the Long Spear HBP are key to taking down large numbers of fighters in a short time. I recommend that when one is reloading, you switch to the other one.
- The Cauldron 50 Rocket and Gray Head T76H are the preferred weapons for attacking warships. The Gray Head packs a big punch and has plenty of ammo, but must be charged. I chose the Cauldron rockets since they require no charge, but I did had to resupply them at the tanker during the 3rd phase.
- At the end of the 1st phase, I usually have 6 killed warships. At the end of the 2nd phase, I would have 11. I have never killed more than 23 warships by the end of phase 3, but that's apparently been done before by many people. Use these numbers as benchmarks.
- During the beginning of the 2nd & 3rd phases, enemy fighters conveniently cluster right in front of you. Ready your Long Spear, lock onto as many targets as you can, and release to kill/damage many of them right off the bat. Also when you hear that the guilty roses are coming in phase 2, glance at your radar to see where they are and fly to them so that you can launch a volley of Long Spears while they are still in formation.
- During the beginning of the 3rd phase, the Night Ravens make an appearance. Make sure to kill the initial wave as soon as you can so that they can call for backup.
- Apparently the hidden Terraforming unit cannot be targeted until after you've engaged one of them.
Well that's about it. Thanks for reading and good luck trying to get this achievement.

Super Easy Way
Just do this:
1. Play Mission 9 (In Campaign) on Easy
2. Kill 25 Warships (Kill all Warships first, the Cauldron 50 Rocket eats these guys for lunch.)
3. Kill 160 Warplanes (The Long Spear HPB cuts these guys to ribbons.)
4. Complete at least 5 of 8 Objectives (Don't kill last target till all other enemies are dead.)
5. Done
I only had to reload at the Tanker once. Ended with a Rank B.
*Objectives are:
Part 1 -
All ships survive
Kill all ships in a short amount of time
Part 2 -
Defeat the Guilty Roses
Defeat the Guilty Roses in a short time
All ships survive
Part 3 -
Destroy the enemies hiding in the terraforming unit
Destroy all enemies
All ships survive

Now this one took me awhile. You don't need to kill every enemy just almost every enemy. When I got the Achievement I had missed 4 enemies during the 2nd part. During the 3rd part you have to kill all or most of the enemies I got it for clearing all of them. You need to kill the enemies behind the terraforming unit and wipe out the initial wave of fighters. Once you kill the last Night Raven fighter he calls for back up then kill the reinforcements and you should have your achievement. can be done on any difficulty.
