So for vessels all naval ships count and I think the giant gunships do as well. To unlock this I just repeated the mission Red Sea about 4 times after completing the main game. Red Sea mostly consists of naval ships and this can be knocked out generally easily.

Giant flying gunships 100% count. I was in the middle of a conquest game and was to target and destroy the big air ships, there was 7 of them. As soon as I shot down the third one this achievement popped mid mission. Kind of annoying as I was saving that achievement for tomorrow's daily for the reward points...

Is this campaign only? As by the comment above, it seems so. Would be a great addition to the guide.

Unlocked in Conquest mode.
Also with the Glass Cannon modifier you can one-shot the Airships using the PW-Mk.I railgun if you hit them on the center from below/above. No need to shoot each part of it.
Don't know if it also works without the modifier.

No need for Glass Cannon to one-shot airships though. You just need to hit the centre chassis and no armaments.
