As of Season 2 (February 2017's update), the ratings have significantly changed.

Bronze <1000
Silver 1000-1099
Gold 1100-1199
Platinum 1200-1299
Diamond 1300>

I'm throwing this out there: there is a possibility this can be boosted.

Since you can make gold accounts on your One, there is a possibility that you can make alts to push your main up...if you can get into the same table. So getting a group together may be a way to help each other.

How do I know? I played two boxes, one with an alt. We searched at the same time, and matched at the same table. I went to a showdown with my alt because I didn't want the alt to interfere with play and got them out of the table. But the point is that with a group of 6 people, this may be able to be boosted.

Click play and choose ranked match.
You can choose between tournament or head to head.
You must first complete 5 provisional games to earn your ranking.
(Even with 5 consecutive wins in head to head, I was placed at Bronze ranking 1098).
To earn silver, your rank must be between 1200 and 1399 when the season ends (varies but typically the end of the month).

**Achievement does not unlock once you reach 1200 in rank.

With the rating system in this game, I wouldn't chance losing it unless you have a lot of days left before the season ends and confidence you can reach the next tier of Gold at 1400.

I am at 1208 at the moment and don't plan on playing the rest of the month just so I can earn this one.

**Update 2/2/17 - I began a new season of Ranked Head to Head and won 4 out of 5 games and was ranked Gold at 1185. I won another game moved up to Platinum at 1205. It looks like the season still has another 57 days left so I may try for Diamond. ** Thanks to JmoCox for pointing this out in the comments.
