How to unlock the Follow Your Nose achievement in PROTOTYPE 2 - Definitive Guide

Here's a detailed video I made going over all the Black Box locations in the Yellow, Green and the Red Zones respectively. There are 45 Black Boxes in total.


The way I went about collecting these was when I first got to a new zone I spent time collecting everything in that respective area to potentially make the upcoming mission easier by getting the mutation awards.

Hope this helps you out, I enjoyed making it. I thought it would be a good idea making this as I struggled to find a few of them.

To track your progress on the BlackBoxes, use the collectible tab in the "M" (default) menu. That will show you the progress on each section of the map, and it will also blink in the general areas of other items.

BlackBoxes are one of the collectible types in Prototype 2. Once they are in a radius of ~160 feet you will see a symbol in the bottom right corner of the screen. It shows you how far the Blackbox is away and helps you to locate its position.

There are a total of 45 BlackBoxes. If you go to your collectibles in-game map you can see little pulses that indicate missing collectibles. Press / to switch between different collectible types. Mark the pulse location on your map and search the area to obtain the BlackBox.

Although it is actually more convenient to use impulses on a map of objects, you don’t need to look anywhere. Saw, marked, received.

Trophies: The Fall of Man, Mad Scientist, Self-taught Hijacker, trophies for finding all the boxes/field commands/lairs - GLITCHED! Before using them, turn off all amplifiers, otherwise you will not receive trophies!

I agree with the tip above. Use impulses, it's easier and faster. The only thing is to avoid poking around in the red zone for a long time, as a rule, all the boxes are located on buildings or in the cracks of buildings. So, running along the bottom, the detector will not even notice them most often.

Go to Collectibles and there in which area and what you are looking for will be reflected in impulses!!! You will understand when you find something this way!!!
