How to unlock the Associate Intern achievement in Psychonauts 2 - Definitive Guide

Levels in Psychonauts 2 work the same as before, with added ways to get them. You will level up from:
-) Completing sidequests (helping Dion raise the tent, finding Queepie six times, completing Norma's scavenger hunt, and resetting the Psychoseismometers for Gisu).
-) Finding 9 PSI Cards around the Motherlobe and combining it with a PSI Core from the Otto-matic.
-) Finding a fully formed PSI Challenge Marker.
-) Finding 100 figments, cumulatively across the minds of those you'll invade.
-) Collecting the Nuggets of Wisdom within minds.
-) Collecting emotional baggage.
Rank 2 should be received within the Atrium of the Motherlobe, most likely, as you'll start out at Rank 1 and be given a tutorial to use the Otto-matic with a free power-up.

After completing the first mission inside Dr. Loboto's mind, you will come to the Psychonauts HQ. Take the elevator behind the receptionist to get to the main hall. You can freely explore the main hall first, or head straight to the "Classroom" door and down the hall to find an Otto-Matic machine.
When using the Otto-Matic for the first time, you will be taken through a short tutorial showing you it's menus, giving you a free pin, and eventually giving you a free PSI Core and PSI Cards to combine.
Upon combining the Core and Cards as part of the tutorial, you should rank up to Associate Intern earning you the Achievement.
