How to unlock the Nest Egg achievement in Psychonauts 2 - Definitive Guide

You may get this one naturally but I've found a way to farm Psitanium if you want this as quickly as possible. You'll need to be at least Rank 40 to equip the pins required for this method.

The first step is obviously buying the Astral Wallet at the Otto-Matic machine for 750 Psitanium and also the Mental Tax pin under the 'Mental Connection' category for 40. This gives you a chance for 10 Psitanium every time you use the Mental Connection power. Equip the pin and, through the Collective Unconscious, go to either the Classroom or Hot Streak in Hollis' mind. Once there, just bounce around the nodes with Mental Connection until your wallet is full and the achievement unlocks.

If you wish to speed this up, buy and equip the Psimultanium Pin, which doubles the drop rate. This doesn't unlock until Rank 52 though.
Other possible farming locations include the Pharmacy: Back Room (Hollis' Hot Streak), as well as the actual Collective Unconscious area itself. Thanks to the commenters for pointing these out.

I might also mention the Psimultanium Pin you can equip at rank 52 to double your Psitanium

There's a long chain of 12 connection nodes if you go to the Pharmacy: Back Room in Hollis' Hot Streak that I used to farm this pretty fast using both the Mental Tax and Psimultanium pins.

Also a note, if you have anything other than a multiple of 5 ( or 10 with the pin) you can't fully get it from this method. You'll have to go grab an orb from the ground (ie I ended this method with 4998 and couldn't get anymore from the method). Still by far the fastest way to do it.

Their is a easy place to do it at and it in collective unconscious. It's a big circle that you can just tap one button

The easiest place is right there in the Atrium where you buy the pins. Use the headset from Otto to uncover the hidden thoughts.

Nice great solution. The Psimultanium Pin doesn't stack with the Mental Connection pin tho

I've been doing the Collective Unconscious area cause it's a loop, so you can just zone out and spam Mental Connection for about 10-15ish minutes and fill up your wallet!

THIS METHOD IS AVAILIBLE ONCE YOU HAVE COMPLETED ENOUGH OF THE STORY/REAL WORLD AREAS TO BE LEVEL 40 (although being level 50 is highly preferable for the store discount pin)

As with the rest of the shop related achievements the best way to farm Psitanium to purchase everything in the Otto-matic and filling up the astral wallet is by having this set up:

- Mental Connection unlocked (Story related - possibly upgraded to at least level 3)
- In possession of the Thought Tuner (unlocked by visiting Otto in his lab in the quarry after getting the quest to unshatter Fords mind - linked to the ford in the mailroom)
- Use the Thought Tuner in the main lobby to reveal the two sets of stray thoughts you can link to (forming a nice chain of thoughts to move between)
- At minimum be level 40 and buy and use the Mental Tax pin which gives the chance to get 10 Psitanium each time you move into thought link bubble.
- Rapidly use Mental Connection moving between each bubble with the Mental Tax pin equipped
- To increase the efficiency of the farm at level 50 use the VIP Discount pin found under "Assorted" in the Otto-matic to greatly decrease the price of all items in the store.
- Additionally, at level 52 the Psimultanium pin can be used to drop Psitanium at double the rate.
Using this method, getting a full wallet of Psitanium and buying everything in the Otto-matic should only take around 15 - 20 minutes.

An easy way to farm Psitanium is in the Gift Shop in Fatherland Follies. You can return to the area by using the Collective Unconscious and then fast travel to the Gift Shop. Everything on the shelves can be destroyed for Psitanium. Then return to the Collective Unconscious and rinse and repeat.

Purchase the Astral Wallet first. This only counts by reaching the 5,000 Psitanium limit for the wallet, not its predecessors. From there, build up enough Psitanium to afford the Psimultanium pin, which increases the drop rate and amount of Psitanium you can acquire. From here, simply dive into the minds of the others and try to find all of the remaining collectibles, burning and breaking everything you come across for the loot they contain. There were some pesky figments I was missing within Bob's Bottles, and constantly running through Tia's Greenhouse gave me plenty of Psitanium from the dishes and other items to burn in the hallways.

You need to collect 5000 tips at a time, that is, fill your wallet completely. There is an interesting way. We equip Mental Tax for ourselves. This Pin gives +10 tips every time you move to points using the Mental Connection skill. We go out into the Collective Unconscious, where there are entrances to all worlds, and begin to jump in a circle until we win.
