The faster way to get 1000 kills is playing custom games (war mode). This is the one and only achievement, which you can boost in custom mode.

At three days I killed over 300 players. If you are good at killing then you will unlock this achievement in less than 2 weeks.

I’ve tried War mode in Custom games a few times and have received no progress.
Either this is patched or I’m missing some details?

Maybe they patched this method. I didn't play PUBG on Xbox One since december.

As of 8-23-19 custom matches do count towards the achievement. If your efficient you can get about 100 kills an hour with a group of 10. Best of luck...

The new team death match mode 8 v 8 in arcade counts towards this achievement.

Yeah, I find that I average between 15-20 kills per tdm match

Also to add, take advantage of your 10 AI Training matches, those kills count towards this achievement. I wasted my first 3 not knowing, but was able to get 20-30 kills in my last 7 by just dropping on a car, and driving towards all the gunshots I heard.

A note to this, is if you have crossplay turned off, there were never any matches for me, but as soon as I turned it on, there were full lobbies, even lobbies of just XBox users, so I'm not sure why I had to turn it back on, but that's what worked for me.

From the main menu of the game press RT to select arcade matches and then pick Team Deathmatch(keep crossplay on to find matches quick). If you don’t wanna wait to get a boosting group together and rotate turns this is the quickest way to get 1000 kills in terms of gameplay time. Once I was finished with the achievements for weapons and such I was at about 480 kills. I played team deathmatch to finish off the 1000. I was able to get 520 kills in about 9 hours of playing. Now your results may vary depending on your skill. I have experience with shooters but am not that good at this game. I averaged about 30 kills a game. Some games more than others. 1 game is 2 ten minute rounds.
Respawns are enabled. Press the map button to select a class. I went with a vector on burst fire. A lot players tend to use either the M4A1 or a sniper. You can’t go wrong with either class except maybe the shotgun.

This will most likely be your final achievement unless you unlocked it from the Game Preview retroactivity or had Game Preview progress already made towards it. Simply put, you have to kill a lot of enemies. Any sort of kill will count towards this achievement.

A quick way to rack up kills is to land with AFK (Away From Keyboard) players and punch them to death. This is by no means a quick way to get this achievement but can sometimes net you a nice amount of kills with very little effort. Keep in mind that other players will also try to do this and things may not always go as planned.

Landing in 'hot spots' like the School on Erangel or the Boot Camp on Sanhok (when the plane is flying over them) will put you straight into the action. If you can stay alive and get some kills before dying or moving on, this is obviously a more legitimate way for those that don't want to kill AFK players.

Note: This achievement is retroactive from Game Preview.
