to unlock stage 2 dubbed "Bomb squad" you have to come first in two races from stage 1.

For each race you can gain up to 16 points for coming 1st, with the amount of points gradually decreasing the lower you place.

To progress to the stage 2 you need to gain 32 out of the 64 points available within the four races you can play. This can be achieved by either two wins or a variation of placements as long as they bring you to, or over the 32 point mark.
