How to unlock the Pet Collector achievement in Puzzle Quest 3 - Definitive Guide

There are a variety of ways to get minions, but just to add that after chapter 12 in the story you unlock a follower who will 'craft' you a random minion every six hours so dont stress if you dont have loads.

Also, dont do what i did and salvage them all or you will have to start again

Do we know if different coloured ones count towards the 25?

I answered my own question today as I had 4 different coloured Dragonette and the achievement popped. May be worth adding to the guide.

Just like spells and equipment, this will come along the way to completing the story. Be sure to keep any minion possible (even duplicates) as they are needed to open chests if you don't have a key to open it immediately. You can get rid of your duplicates later on once you have a nice stock of them, though you shouldn't run out of space for a while, especially if you are upgrading your followers who will provide more storage.
