How to unlock the Master Craftsman achievement in Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords - Definitive Guide
3 runes are required in order to craft a Godlike item.
The runes I used were:
Rune of Axes (Base Rune - Weapon)
Location: Blackhoof - Runekeeper: Lv25 Minotaur King
Rune of Poison (Power Rune)
Location: Snake Fang - Runekeeper: Lv25 Giant Wasp
Rune of Gods (Modifier Rune)
Location: Valley of Kings - Runekeeper: Lv40 Arkliche
Once you have all 3 runes go and craft the item at your citadel (you must ensure the item name has the term "Godlike" in order to earn the achievement).
It will be extremely tricky to craft a Godlike item so expect to take a few attempts at it.
Good luck!

Thanks for the tips, it really helped to save me time. However you're not wrong about it being tricky! It's so frustrating getting 75% of the way there only to fail.

Forging the godlike item can be somewhat easy if you use these tricks. I got it on my first try without really thinking what I was doing.
1- Always match the highest gems on the board. That way, you'll have a lot more time to get the anvils at the right place. That works because by playing at the top of the board, you won't disrupt the lower gems. And once you match some lower gems, there will probably be new matches to be made on the top.
2- Try not getting out of your way to match anvils. If you see you can easily make a match, go for it. Otherwise, just do as the first tip says.
3- There's no problem if you catch a single anvil with a +5 skull or with a 4-in-a-row. That goes to your total and the new board will extend your life span.
4- Don't think too much. You don't need to. Just match gems the highest on the board you can. Soon enough, there will be enough anvils on the board the easily match them.
5- Stay calm, even if you lose with one anvil to go. Becoming angry will simply hinder your skills and make you lose more, which will make you more angry, which will...
Good luck!

Tip#1 was the best advice (apart from finding the Runes) given for this achievement - thankyou, my nightmare has gone:)

I usually used the 5+ skulls, it was actually my main source of completing this. Although I did get lucky after one of them to get a 4 of a kind anvil set up shortly after.

Perhaps the most difficult trophy in the game:
1. You need to buy a forge in the citadel. There are usually no problems with this - we buy for gold.
2. As we progress and open the map more, we will come across all sorts of houses, tents, turrets, caves and other small buildings, almost each of which contains runes, guarded (not for free) by the corresponding Rune Keeper. We defeat the guards and accumulate runes into the collection.
3. Items are created in a mini-game by connecting three runes: main, guide and power. Each rune brings some properties that add up. We mark the three runes of interest with a square, look below at the resulting complexity of the object - and go ahead, connect the hammers. Light items are nothing special, but they are quite easy to obtain and can then be sold (runes do not disappear from the collection). Trophies for light items (checked personally) are not given. More complex objects require the connection of more hammers and... nerves. For complete creativity - a list of runes in Russian:
- MAIN RUNES -

4. To obtain a Godlike item as required by the trophy, the difficulty status of the complete item must be "Godlike" . This does not bode well for anything, but only nerves and a wild number of attempts to knock out 21 hammers!
Some advice from an "experienced":
- After receiving one or more hammers, the board is updated
- Try to leave one move at the bottom “in reserve”
- When “Skull+5” explodes near a hammer, the hammer is destroyed
- When connecting any 4 stones in a row/column, this row/column is completely destroyed, including the hammers. Great opportunity to get hammers!
After the 131st attempt, he still connected the Rune of Axes + Rune of the Gods + Rune of Poison. There was a lot of swearing at the developers, but the result was a weapon that adds 6 when dealing 6 damage and plus a 40% chance of poisoning the enemy every turn.
