1) You can forage for items in or around your blackwagon. This could range from sellable goods to perhaps even Talismans.
2) You can study the Book of Rites to give a permanent boost to your party members.
3) You can train an Exile to give them a better understanding of the Rites.
For this, you simply have to do any of these ten times. However, what I would suggest, for another trophy, is to study the Book of Rites. There are 8 upgrades you can get from doing this, meaning after that, you'd just need to do two more to get this trophy. The 7th and 8th upgrades increase your dousing stat, meaning you'll do slightly more damage to any Pyre when you plunge into it (maximum of +2).

Throughout the game you will get the opportunity to learn a Vocation, which consists of either foraging for valuable resources that you can sell in the Slugmarket, engaging in private study that grants a small increase to a particular stat for your whole party, or mentoring a character so that they get a level increase. I’d strongly recommend doing vocations whenever you can (some opportunities can be missable depending on your choices in the story) and focusing on private study until you’ve exhausted this route. Firstly, this route will help you in later and more difficult Rites and secondly, you can easily unlock Fear Not the Flame with Jodariel.

It is useful to use to prepare for the liberation of a specific Exile - by the “enlightened”, i.e. Those three companions whose level is the highest are considered available for release.
