How to unlock the Hold on to Your Hope and Burn achievement in Quantum Break - Definitive Guide

This achievement is story-related and cannot be missed!
To get this achievement you have to play through Act 1 chapter 3. Which is the final chapter of the first act.
It is a rather short chapter, but keep in mind to pick up the one and only collectible in this chapter.

If it helps anyone else, this didn't unlock for me the first time while playing on Hard. However, on my first playthrough I did quit out and came back later at one point.
I replayed the entire Act 1 on easy (just rushed through as I already had all the collectibles) and watched all cutscenes just to be safe. Achievement unlocked about 30 seconds after the "Act 1 Complete" message popped up. So the Junction doesn't matter for this.
The only other thing I did differently was that I didn't watch Paul's presentation (Need to watch it for an achievement) when entering his lab.

I'm halfway through act 2 and this hasn't unlocked I tried replaying the junction multiple times still nothing, got any advice?

Does this need to be played on Normal to unlock? Nothing has unlocked for me.

I read that you have to watch all the cutscenes for it to unlock

It unlocked for me on normal difficulty & I didn’t skip any cutscenes. I played it on hard & skipped cutscenes & it didn’t unlock then played it on easy & it didn’t unlock as well. I also cleared my persistent storage & restarted my game. I hope this helps anyone that is having trouble. (Normal difficulty & all cutscenes)
