exactly the same as earth saviour...
if you can't get this playing in classic mode, which i have to admit i couldn't...
play in infinite mode and try to put up with the repetitive grind of losing ship after ship as you wade through the levels.
eventually, you will complete the game and get the achievement...
whether or not you'll bother watching the screen while it happens is up to you.
infinite mode has ruined this and it's counterpart achievement.

Can be done either on Classic or Infinite mode.
If you wanna be really lazy you can set it to Infinite Mode and literally do nothing as the game will basically play itself.

The easiest way to do this is to start the game using infinite mode. You will have infinite lives so it doesn't matter if you die. Complete all the stages of R-Type II to unlock this trophy.

Same as the previous but you must complete R-Type II instead, to play R-Type II press 
from the main menu and you will be able to rotate the arcade cabinets to change the game. Select R-Type II, start a new game on 'infinite mode' and blast your way through to the end. R-Type II has 6 stages to get through.
