The total amount of XP needed for rank 61 is 522,678 (Thanks epsilon for the exact amount!).
With each match being 25 minutes if you have 1 player just capture all the supply depots, build 100 administrative buildings and then surrender the opponent will get roughly 30,000 XP per match and the opponent really does nothing for 20+ minutes. We have been averaging around 21-22 minutes per match as we have maxed out the 100 building limit before the time has run out so it shaves a bit off the total time.
We have been running 3 hour sessions and getting in roughly 7-8 games in that timeframe. You are looking at about 18 wins needed per person at 25 minutes per match for a total of 7 1/2 hours per person. You can add in probably an extra hour or 2 for matchmaking as you will not always get matched up initially. Once you are both in the 30+ range of rank you will match up far quicker with your boosting partner.
When boosting you will need to be within the same "10" range of rank for matching up. People in the different rank levels do not match up as easily to people not within their rank level (and sometimes they can never match up).
The range of ranks are as follows :
Ranks 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50 & 51-60.
When you both get to rank 60 you will need to make sure you both get rank 61 in the same match. It is not impossible but you may need to play 1 or 2 real quick games to narrow the XP gap between you both while making sure you can accomplish the amount of XP needed for rank 61 in a single game. When you hit rank 61, you can not play anyone lower then rank 61 so you will be screwed if you both don't hit it at the same time.
At this moment me & my boosting partner are 11,100 and 17,800 away from rank 61. What we will do is play another match where we both get enough XP to be about 5000 away from rank 61. On the next match we will both make sure to get enough XP so that we both clear rank 61 together in the same match.
I'd suggest alternating wins so you don't get a bonus for winning consecutive matches and also keep your ranks very close together as someone on a lower rank beating a higher ranked player gets you a bonus as well. It may only be a thousand or so XP but it could make the difference between you being stuck at rank 60 and your boosting partner making rank 61 :(
I hope this solution helps people in the future when trying to boost this game.
You can still unlock achievements when you hit level 21 or 61, but you will get reset to your previous level after the result screen.
Because of the 5 minute limit, the winning player needs to built administrative buildings for the surrendering player to take over with infantry. Like this the losing player generates more points for the winning player, which helps in the long run.
Also, Elite players can match up with non-Elite players, I managed to connect with an elite player multiple times. The problem is that the game searches for a whopping 8 minutes and longer until you connect to an elite player. It is therefore important that both players get close to level 61 as much as possible and then jump to level 61 at the same time or keep the difference as low as possible. I had to play three additional matches after my boosting-partner reached elite, and we wasted 30 minutes just staring at the search screen. Plan accordingly or have a second profile ready in case your partner reaches Elite too quickly.

Reach level 61 in online play. This is another grind trophy. The best way I've seen so far is to get a partner and get into a ranked 1v1 together. Have each person be Russian and build 1 prototype base each in the middle of the map and 1 barracks each there as well. Take 3 supply depots and upgrade your infantry. Now put blitz on the sector and keep building out infantry and capture the prototype buildings. You need to get into a rhythm so that you don't kill your partners infantry all the time. As you get the same amount of exp +- 10% you both get a victory bonus. In a 25 minute game it's easily possible to get 21,000 exp and with the 5,000 bonus that gives you can make 26,000 exp in 25 minutes. Taking into account getting into games together you're looking at around 52,000-55,000 exp an hour. Level 61 requires about 525,000 exp so this should take less than 10 hours to complete.
Please be aware that the way the match making system works it is far easier to get into a game with someone in the same league as you. When searching it first matches you with those in your league and if no one is found it looks for other people. This means if you are rank 15 and your boosting partner is 25 you'll have a much harder time joining each other than if you were both 15. The leagues are for every 10 levels so 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60 and 61. The boosting method ensures you will both be around the same score each match but if there starts to be a gap make sure to let the person get extra exp to stay the same level.
