Destroy 128 Vehicles while driving the Phoenix

How to unlock the Bytesize Takedown achievement in RAGE 2 - Definitive Guide

In this video guide I will show you how you can farm for your 128 vehicles destroyed while driving the Phoenix. Now first you will need to get to the location Underpass in the region Broken Tract. Once you clear it out of enemies you will be able to destroy the vehicles much easier. Once you destroy them all just save the game and reload it. Keep repeating until you run low on ammo. There will be some around but you will need to go to Gunbarrel and go to the vendor there. Buy ammo and return to the Underpass and continue destroying the vehicles. Repeat this process until the achievement pops. You can also upgrade your Phoenix with more weapons like the rockets to have more ammo. If starting from scratch it should take about a couple hours. Will also depend if you have enough money to keep buying ammo.

I can confirm you don't have to save the game each time. Just save it once and keep reloading that save. Your progress will still count and that way you shouldn't lose ammo.

Nice, wish I thought of that.

Or just attack some convoys. Crash into the bikes for the other achievement and shoot&ram the other cars and tanks. If you need upgrades for the Phoenix, kill the lead, otherwise skip it and run.

You can destroy all the vehicles leaving a healthy one. Take that to Gun Barrel and go back with the Phoenix. They will pay you to take the car and the return will be all the other cars again.

Just to confirm you dont need to keep saving just keep loading your last safe after you have destroyed all the vehicles that way you dont need to worry about ammunition.

Hi guys,
I had a crack at another way to get this achievement. Using the advice to go to the underpass i destroyed the four cars there by ramming them to explode (saving on money for ammo). I then drove to Gunbarrel and rammed the 7 cars in the lot to explode them (being a town you can’t shoot as you know). So that’s 11 cars in total in a short 20-30 second drive between each other. Best time at a guess is 1:30-2 mins a cycle avg: 3:30 mins if you don’t bugger up the angles and speed in ramming the cars. You may also get two or even three random cars spawn between the two locations as a bonus at times. I also tested the distance you need to drive to re-spawn the other four cars, they come back as soon as you reach the bridge into Gunbarrel. Hope this helps.

@TheMentalAussie ramming cars doesn't seem to count, it looks like you need to use weapons. I've been trying your method and whilst the stats shows destroyed vehicles has gone up by 200, the achievement hasn't popped for me.

You can track kills which count under the Driving category in stats, which I wish I'd found before I spent over an hour driving backward and forward ramming cars facepalm

No need to save every time before you reload. Stats are saved regardless. That will save you time and you won't run out of ammo.

The best way to get this without a doubt:
Max out your car's ammo, then clear out the underpass bandit den, then park your car so it faces the 3 bandit vehicles (so you can aim at all 3 without moving).

Now you can replay the bandit den from the map screen (back button, then x button).
Walk 1m to your car, get in, blow the 3 vehicles up, then open map again and replay the bandit den again.

No need to load the game or save the game, and replaying the den always places you right next to your expertly parked car.

Hello everybody!

For the first few vehicle kills, I would recommend chasing down the active convoys throughout the map and destroying all of them. This will work towards this achievement and you’ll get this achievement in the process, as well as a large amount of vehicle parts to beef up your phoenix.

You can reveal convoys on the map by unlocking the skill in the top left of the Capture and Control Project Skill Tree. Once you’ve gotten that achievement though, you can move on to the grind spot. There is a bandit den directly east of gunbarrel called underpass. There are 4 vehicles parked here. Destroy all of them, save your game, and then load that save. It will load you back in sitting in the phoenix, right outside the den. It takes 45 seconds to a minute to do a full cycle with loading times, so taking into account vehicle kills you’ve already gotten you can get this in about 20 minutes. It will remember your ammo across save/loads though, so you will have to restock periodically.

Hey I made a video showing you a fast and easy way to farm this. You will start in Gunbarrel and all you have to do is drive the Phoenix to the closest Bandit Den which is Underpass. There you will find 6 vehicles (4 cars, 2 bikes) you can destroy. Once you've cleared all of them just fast travel back to Gunbarrel and repeat until the Chievo pops.
There is a mechanic in front of Gunbarrel entrance on the left. If you run out of vehicle ammo just buy some there (you can get money by selling collected junk and the vendor).

Since the latest patch you don't have to use the 'save the game&reload' method. It might be faster like this as there are less loading screens.
You can use the 'save the game&reload' method if you want as it restores your ammo but I found it faster to buy when depleted.

Here's said video:

Hope this helps.

The Phoenix is the first car you get given and has a vast array of upgrades and weapons for you to make things easier. 128 Vehicles is a lot and will take some grinding to achieve. Try and drive around as much as possible during the game to deplete the post story grind. Avoid using other vehicle types too as the destroyed vehicles must be with the Phoenix. Convoys will contain around 6-8 vehicles at a time and will be the best option to grind with. You can destroy all of the convoys guarding vehicles and then leave the area so they can replenish. Rinse and repeat until you get the desired amount.

The best way to unlock this achievement is to chase down the convoys that drive around the map. The convoy i chose to repeat was the one in the northern areas called 'King Squasha'. This has the most escort vehicles following it, so what I did was, first I destroyed all of the escort vehicles, making sure to dodge attack the motorbikes so that they would count towards "Off Balance", then destroy the remaining vehicles just using my weapons. Then on my very first convoy I also made sure to destroy the main vehicle, 'King Squasha' to unlock "Gonevoy".

After this, I fast travelled away, then loaded the map back up again and chased down the convoy that has now respawned and destroyed the escorting vehicles in the same way, dodge attacking the motorbikes and shooting everything else, only on all of my attacks on this convoy from now on I didn't bother taking down the main vehicle again since it took too long and only added 1 more to the total. Repeat as necessary.

Just driving around and shoot or wreck all types of vehicles.

Personally, I got the trophy pretty quickly by simply finding a bandit camp (underpass) where there were 6 cars parked, then cleared the camp itself, made a save and started destroying the cars with the machine guns of my car, when there were no cars left, I loaded the save and repeated until the trophy dropped. I hope my method will help someone.

In the statistics, we go into riding - Killing with the help of the Phoenix should be 128. Motorcycles also count.

The most likely option would be to destroy the convoys. Just collect the spare parts to upgrade the Phoenix and win the trophy. I recommend shooting vulnerable spots on vehicles with 20mm machine guns.

In the same place there are 2 more motorcycles (located to the right of the entrance to the building), which also count

Both vehicles in the convoy and empty vehicles parked on the side of the road and near outposts with enemies are counted.

It’s more convenient to farm in the forest region, on the “King Davilo” - on average you get 10 cars, plus he kills himself easily and quickly. But motorcycles do not count, as I understand it, although they are also counted in game statistics. The trophy dropped when 150+ vehicles were killed by the phoenix.
