How to unlock the Hot Potato achievement in RAGE 2 - Definitive Guide

In order to reflect enemy grenades, you'll first have to unlock the Grenade Tennis perk, which can be obtained in the first tier of John Marshall's Kill & Destroy project tree. In order to unlock John Marshall's projects, you'll have to complete the story mission Blackout, which you'll likely do very early on.

The perk costs 1 project point. You'll earn these points often by doing various things in the game. They will come frequently just by playing the game naturally.

Once you have the perk, simply go to an area with several Goons and wait for one to throw a grenade in your direction. Once that happens, click the cn_RS to do a melee attack. If the attack connects with the grenade, you'll get the achievement. Since you'll probably have thousands of grenades tossed at you while playing this game, you'll have no shortage of chances to get this achievement.

In this video guide I will show you how to reflect and enemy's grenade. You will need to complete the mission Blackout in order to unlock Marshall's skill tree first to do this achievement. Once in Marshall's skill tree you will need to buy the grenade tennis to be able to to this. I would recommend buying a few other skills to unlock the next level in the skill tree. Once you do that you can buy the smash grenade tennis to be able to hit the grenade on the ground much easier.

Once you have these skills just go into an enemy base with some goons and wait for one to throw a grenade at you. Once you see the grenade icon find it and melee it by pressing the RS. Once the grenade flies from the melee the achievement will pop.

You can see when an enemy throws or hits a grenade towards you and will have a short time to melee with to knock it back. The time you get to knock it backs is generous and even still you can unlock a perk that adds an extra second onto the time the enemy grenades take to explode if you happen to be struggling with this. Luckily you don't need to hit or kill another enemy with this you simply just need to hit the grenade with a melee attack.

Grenades show up red on the screen and are thrown by enemies wielding baseball bats. To be able to reflect grenades you need to unlock some perks in the Kill and Destroy section:

Grenade Tennis - Will allow you go return a thrown grenade using the melee ability whilst its in the air.
Smash Grenade Tennis - This will further your ability, you can reflect them once they have hit the ground.

Upon hitting a grenade, the trophy will pop.

You need to unlock at least one John Marshall combat project - Grenade Tennis. The grenades themselves are clearly visible thanks to the red marks. If you are unable to fight back in battle, leave one fighter alive, preferably melee. Sooner or later he will throw a grenade at you. Video guide .

It is necessary to open the “tennis with a grenade” skill, then we look for an enemy with a grenade and fight off with a melee attack R3
