How to unlock the Mata Hari Manners achievement in RAGE 2 - Definitive Guide

This achievement was a serious pain in the ass, as finding my remaining 28 drones took me hours upon hours of additional exploration.

If you don't know what spy drones look like, hit cn_back, go to the Projects tab, select "Search & Recover" (which you might need to unlock first), hit cn_A, then highlight the 2nd perk of the 3rd tier; "Spy-Drone Tracking". This is the most important perk when going for this achievement, and the perk-related video shows you exactly what spy drones look like.

I found spy drones at any kind of location: bandit dens, arks, pit stops, exploration spots, repowering stations. They're always outside, usually (not always) several meters above the ground, and upon aiming at a spy drone, its blue light turns red, and then it flies away. I used the assault rifle to take them out. Also, you can hear them when you are close to them; they make a whirring sound. Therefore, I would clear a location of possible enemies, search for items indicated on my compass, and as soon as I heard/spotted a spy drone, I would save the game. If you can't destroy one before it flies away, just reload your most recent save.

Now, the big "mistake" I had made prior to going for this achievement, which later made searching for the spy drones a time-consuming nightmare, was purchasing the perks "Embedded-Feltrite Tracking", "Storage-Container Tracking" & "Ark-Chest Tracking" pretty early on in the game (with some of them being mandatory purchases if you want to unlock the tracking for spy drones). The non-mandatory purchases turned out to have been a serious mistake, as all items use the same signal-strength indicator on the compass.

I don't know how many spy drones there are in Rage 2, but upon finding my final one and unlocking this achievement, I had visited every single location on the map and I literally had no idea where else I could search. The highest spy-drone log I unlocked for destroying a drone was #0034, meaning there could be 34+ drones in the game.

You can check how many drones you've found by hitting cn_back > Log > Info > Lore > Spy Drones.

Edit May 16th, 2019: I found a YouTube video uploaded by PS4Trophies a few hours ago, which provides further assistance. According to this video, the drones spawn randomized.

Edit August 29th, 2019: Upon replaying this game months after its release, I noticed the devs recently implemented several improvements in order to make obtaining this achievement way easier. Players are now able to see collectibles by holding down cn_LB, and even the signal-strength indicator has been patched to now show what collectible you are looking for, making this solution near-redundant. I'm not removing it, though. It will stay as a reminder on how annoying and time-consuming this achievement was pre-patch. 😂

I made the mistake of buying all trackers so i have to use my headset to listen for them. Good thing i have a good headset cuz i can hear them from a good distance. Got 19 so far.

I would strongly, strongly recommend following this advice and ONLY buying the spy drone tracker. Having done so, I've found 3 in a half hour.

Yea I just found out about this a little late as I think I'm about halfway through game ... hoping it can be done on a second playthrough instead of a full 30 in one game .. but with soy tracker and knowing what to look for been finding them pretty consistently

What I’d like to know is do they spawn randomly or do they spawn at specific locations?

I just got done testing to see if you could farm these using save reloads and sadly you can't. Unlike every other achievement in the game, this one is tied to your journal. You have to have 30 drone logs for the achievement to pop. You can't just farm them in the same spot.

Thanks Anthony Q Davis! You just saved me a lot of time as I was about to try the same method. The only help I can offer is this: After a few failed attempts trying to use the assault rifle, I killed my first drone painlessly by activating overdrive and quickly shooting it with the shotgun just as it was taking off. Destroyed it instantly.

This achievement fucking sucks. i have 27 and have spent all day going through every single location on the map. No idea what else i can do other than go through them all again.

EDIT: Ok, found a map online and went to a few locations i hadn't even found the '?' for yet and found another to make 28 and the achievement unlocked. Seems even the tracking for these is off too then.

Having finished this achievement yesterday, this is what I would advise people (some repetition from the above comments). For context, it took me around 6 hours to get 27 drones, so I did this in one day more or less from scratch.

CRITICAL:
- Re-load your save if you miss a drone, under any circumstances. It is absolutely not worth trying to find them again. Re-loading your checkpoint ALWAYS works. They also stay in the same place, so no need to find the drone again.
- Only unlock Spy Drone, Data Pad, and Storage Container tracking in your projects (you have to unlock the latter two as part of the skill tree, unfortunately). If you're clearing out an area, follow your tracker to get rid of the storage containers and data pads. If your sensor is still going, its a drone, if not, move on. The problems only really start when you start unlocking the Ark chests and Feltrite containers, as I can only imagine your sensor is always on the go.
- The sound of drones is a dead giveaway and is important. This is a big one. You can (usually) hear drones throughout the entire location you're in. By the time I did my last 10 or so drones, I knew there was one as soon as I entered the location, so I just sprinted through on easy, destroyed it, and moved on. If you can't hear any form of buzz when you arrive at a location, there is a pretty good chance there isn't a drone. The exceptions to this are super large bandit dens (e.g. Doomsayer Peak in Twisting Canyons), its worth searching in this case. If you are deaf or hearing impaired, this is still very possible with the sensors, so don't worry too much, this is just helpful to do if you can.
- Drones can spawn almost everywhere, but they can only spawn overground. They will never spawn within buildings, down pits, etc. They are usually affixed to a building or a wall, and it will always be on the exterior. The only buildings it will ever be "inside" are ones with blown walls or roofs.
- Progress on drones only "saved" when you get to a new location. Manual saves immediately after finding drones didn't bank my drones. It also didn't bank if I fast traveled to a trading town. It is a stupid system, but manual saves basically back up your most recent autosave. If you reload a manual save, it'll put you at the most recent autosaved location. Your progress is only saved if you finish an area's main objective (i.e. kill all enemies, destroy all gas containers), as you get a new autosave. To get around this, just go to the closest possible location and it'll autosave your progress, you're then fine to back up with manual saves and close your session. If you don't finish the main objective of an area, kill a drone, save, then reload it, it'll take you back to the start of that area and the drone won't have been added to your log. I got caught out by this 3 times. If you do, reloading your manually save effectively works the same as reloading an autosave, so just get the drone again.

HELPFUL:
- Drones were most common at Exploration Locations, Bandit Camps, Pit Stops, and Ark Locations (for me, at least) . I had the most luck with exploration locations (particularly smaller ones) and bandit dens (roughly 18 - 20 between these two). Arks probably had one 1/3 of the time (I found 4 at Arks). I found the rest at Recharging Stations, Road Blocks, Ranger Echos and Crusher Locations (only if they have an exterior) but nowhere near as many, so I'd leave these type of areas to the end of your grind. I personally NEVER found any at authority turrets, so don't bother there.
- Write down/log"successful" and "unsuccessful" locations. This was important for me. I kept a log of the name, location type, and region of every drone I found, but also where I didn't find one. This meant that I wasn't looking in the same places more than once, and there is a ton of locations. 2 kind souls linked me this map https://game-maps.com/RAGE2/Full-Rage-2-Map.asp which was helpful, as it may show you some places to search that isn't on the map.
- This is reportedly accumulative between playthroughs. I can't confirm this, as I did do it in one playthrough, but Nexus above was very helpful and I have faith that if they are mentioning this then it is most likely the case. Meaning, if you have 25 and just can't find anymore, it may be worth making some backup saves and getting another 5 in a fresh playthrough.

Does anyone know what exactly happens to the drones that disappeare? Do they respawn at a random location? I got 28 now and searched every spot they can appear at but missed like 4 when I didn't know what they were yet. I really hope I won't have to to this again.

Honestly sound is your friend with this. I haven't cleared the northern most area yet but I am up to 17 without trying that hard. The tip about saving before taking down the drone is helpful. The other big thing is try and locate it slowly, listening for it. As long as the blue light on it doesn't approach the center of your screen it won't fly away. What I did was slowly look for it and once I spotted it I would take out the rocket launcher and just toss one near it. Way easier than using overdrive or trying to shoot it out of the air. Most of the time the light on it wont even turn red since you can shoot a decent distance next to it and let the splash damage take it out. Hopefully I find the rest in the area I am in because early on in the game some did fly away from me.

I can confirm that this is accumulative between playthroughs.
Had 27 Spy drones destroyed, searched for hours throughout the various wasteland locations and couldn't find anything. Started a new playthrough and within an hour found 1 spy drone and achievement unlocked. Seems to be unlocking for alot of people at 28 instead of 30.

For me it wasn't accumulative between playthroughs. On my first save that I beat the game with I found 27, I had to start a new game as one of the story based achievements glitched on my so I had found another 6 on that one but no achievement. I went back to my other save and found the other three that I needed and the achievement popped Really hate that they put this achievement in this game

Seeing some comments - is it confirmed or not that you can do another quick run and grab the achievement?

CoreScan drones do not carry over to new playthroughs you have to do these all in 1 playthrough, as i just tried it. I have 2 in a new playthrough (starting it after i finished my original one) and i have 29 in my original one. I am now hunting a needle in a haystack.

@C5 Prime when drones fly away they are heading for a new location - this is actually one of the loading screen tips. You can get a good idea by looking at the direction the drone headed then see what the nearest location is in that direction on the map (ignore locations they're known to avoid like trade towns and sentry turrets).

I've done this 4x now to find drones that flew away.

Another confirmation that this stacks with NG+. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s easier or quicker, but if you’re going for Ultra Nightmare and Ironman difficulties anyways, you could just as well start with those rather than grinding on your finished playthrough.

And if you’re in Ultra Nightmare and spot a drone but don’t want to clear the entire location, they can also be sniped from a distance with one charged shot from the Hyper cannon.

If you’re sufficiently far away, they won’t fly away and you can take your time setting up a good shot.

I'm buying the game tonight. Is this the sort of game where parts of the world are gated off or there are level requirements for certain regions, or is everything open and are all the enemies scaled to your level? Wondering if I can just knock this achievement out once I unlock the drone tracker and not have to worry about it later.

Also, "Spy Drones Destroyed" under Statistics in the pause menu may not update accurately. Under LOG > INFO > LORE I had 30 Spy Drone Intel shown when I got the achievement, but under Statistics it said I had only destroyed 24. I can also confirm what NoHeroes94 said about saving by going to a new location, because after I got the achievement and had 30 intel listed under LOG, I manually saved and quit and when I returned it was at 29 intel and the last Spy Drone I destroyed was no longer in the location I had found it.

@PlusATHEY I've read elsewhere that these collectable achievements have a "global" total that extends beyond one game, so if you were a few short starting up a new game and getting a few more should be enough. @True Owlcaholic also confirms this.

The comment from @NoHeroes94 (which is good enough to be a solution in of itself) is solid and if people follow their advice that should be enough. The humming sound the drone makes it an indicator that it's the vicinity. One additional data point I'll raise is that spy drones only seem to fly off once you look at it from a relatively close distance, or shoot at it. What I'd do is clear a location and if I heard it, I would try not to look around too wildly until I cleared all the enemies out. After that I would locate the drone and shoot it (it does seem to be impervious to damage before it detaches from the wall it's clinging too and flies off, but it doesn't take much to kill it.)

I want to also reinforce the need to kill every drone you find, and reload your autosave if you miss one. I missed at least 2 early on and I found my 30th drone after a lot of searching to find new locations in areas that I thought I had explored properly before (in this case, southeast wetlands). The last 3 or 4 were hard to find. People have seen drone logs up to #0034 but don't let a single out get away from you if you want to clear all of this in one save!

Just a small note. You do not need to save before attempting to kill a drone. The game autosaves when you arrive at any location so if the drone gets away just load the last autosave.

I had to destroy about 40. I did 28 in my first playthrough and the rest in an easy ng+ run that I started just to grind this buggy achievement out. I just used the powerpyx guide and systematically went over the map (using the icarus), starting at the bottom and never fast traveling anywhere.

@FALLENANGELSEMO , Drones that fly away go to a nearby location. Just check in which direction they take of, and go to a couple of the nearest locations in that direction to find it again.

Wow. That was so nerve wreckin. About halfway my internet went off, but I kept doing it. But I didn't know the statistic only works if you have internet. So after 30 drones I noticed, when I have internet again it said 18 drones. So I kept doing it secretly hoping it will unlock eventually. Around 32 I got the achievement. My log file said 29, but I don't care.
I hate collectibles, but random collectibles are annoying and tedious.

A few tips.
I'm spanish so I'll try to explain the best I can.

- Is easier if you save the game before attempting to kill a drone but If a drone flies away, aim at it until you lose it on the horizon. Open the map and trace a line from the arrow of the player to the next location in that direction. The drone will be there (or in the nearest one). I've lost the same drone twice and found using this method. Also, it's mentioned in the loading screen.

- You can do it in several playthroughs: I first played on Ultra Nigthmare, then Easy Ironman, then Iron Man NG+, then loaded my Ultra Nightmare, changed to easy and completed all locations... I had 19 intels from drones and was unable to find any other...
Started a NG+ with this save, went to Professor mission (so I can search for drones) and after doing the mission I was able to easily find a lot of spy drones. My stats showed 31 when I got the achievement but I think I found like 35+

I actually didn't follow advice to only unlock the least number of Search and Discover perks, I unlocked all of them because for me, the noise they give off is the clue as to where they are, you can ignore the signal strength somewhat for these. Plus I wanted an easy life clearing out locations, not having to search all over for everything or come back later with the perks just because of the drones.

They are almost every time attached to the outside of a building at a location but the key thing I found when doing the ones I have so far is if you do not look at the drone directly it does NOT change colour and fly away however close you get to it. The tip then is essentially to get a feel for where it is based on the noise, find as open an area as you can within relative close proximity and sight of the drone (so you can manoeuvre to follow it), turn around and fire away with the assault rifle as you have a much better chance of shooting it down the more bullets you're firing at it. I think I have only missed one (due to my poor aiming on the occasion) out of about 20 so far.

Should work for anyone.

I now mapped all drone locations and will include them into a video along with a map and marker before every drone and a map with all locations marked at the beginning of that sequence.

But what I noticed is the LOG Numbers are random, so as an example I got 3 times a 0006 in the same game. And the locations also are randomized each time you start a new game, so there seem to be a set of locations where they get randomized placed on new game start.

I think I found all locations where they can appear, but it's also possible that there are more, it's hard to figure out. I did scan 638 Gigabytes of MP4 video files I recorded and pinpointed every drone that I saw or shot down with the corresponding LOG numbers. I also started a new game and checked them and they where there, so either I really got them all or it was coincidence, but I won't redo everything again because it did take a day already to scan all that data.

I will also need some time to do the Video that also will contain all achievements at once, I only finished doing a list of timestamps across the 638GB of MP4 files and now will need to cut and assemble everything into one file.

Also another important thing, once missed(flyed away) they don't come back to the location later, so if you miss one instantly reload an autosave. To make it worse they also sometimes fly away because of enemy fire too, pay attention to the sound they make to notice if there is one and if there suddenly isn't one anymore after you search for, reload an auto save.

If you missed too much already, you can start a new game and get some there, they luckily count cumulative over games.

UPDATE: I've noticed on subsequent reloads that I'm losing drones (based on intel counts). I thought my numbers had seemed off before, but I definitively caught one and reloaded to before the associated bandit den. However, the achievement later popped at 27 intel, so it's possible the internal count was still correct. Regardless, a word of caution.

Adding to other solutions, the PowerPyx guide has been absolutely invaluable (see below). It lists 88 potential locations for the spy drones with screenshots. I recommend checking the locations against those completed on your map and taking your Icarus to those found to be incomplete or undiscovered. Your Icarus can travel in a straight path, saving you a substantial amount of time.

BE SURE TO SAVE ON ARRIVAL. Check the local screenshot and if possible go in after the drone first and hit it with a direct single shot from your rocket launcher. One shot, one kill. Note, the drones can zip off in battle and it's easy to not hear or see them do it depending on their location.

Hope this helps!

http://www.powerpyx.com/rage-2-spy-drone-locations/

I unlocked my achievement early into the fourth of six regions, despite failing to destroy multiple drones and clearing a significant amount of locations. There's still hope for you if you were in my boat.

Using the PowerPyx guide above, I was able to find 28 drones after inspecting all locations … I did the usual save, investigate using the perk for done location, and listening for the throbbing sound from the drone.

My achievement popped at 27 drones located. I'd searched for the final drone as I only had 3-4 locations left.

One suggestion for those using the guide: I strongly recommend getting a map of each location and marking all locations the PowerPyx guide has drones for … they creating your own ordering for how you visit them. The order listed in the PowerPyx guide seem random and will have you visiting opposite ends of the map on subsequent searches … and then have you go right back to a location very near where you had been. It made an otherwise excellent guide a bit less fun to use.

IF you've already tried collecting items from all sites with the goal of getting the green check-mark for each, using a guide may be overkill given the spawns are random. Just use the Icarus to fly from location to location on your map and use the sensor to detect the presence of a collectible. If you've cleared the sites already and the sensor detects something, it's likely a drone. Land, save, destroy!

Yeap, this is basically what I did and cleared them up within a few hours. I found a large proportion of them at Bandit Dens. The thing to remember is that you might not have even discovered all locations yet. Even after I had completed the game and been to every 'known location', I still kept finding new ? marks on the map as I was flying around and was finding Drones at them too! I'm sure there is probably more ? marks I haven't even found on the map yet, but I have all 30 drones, so I'm done exploring for now.

Thanks, it seems this is the tactic I'll have to use too. I've been to most locations on the map and only have 22 drones shot. I remember seeing them at nearly every stop during the early game and now that I've got the weapons to handle them in one shot I can't seem to find them.

Hello everybody! This is The Elk Enigma and in this video I'll cover Mata Hari Manners.

As you may have heard from around the internet, this achievement is terrible because of how ridiculously random it is. Because of this, unfortunately this won’t be a collectibles guide, but more of a tips and tricks video.

Now, while they do spawn randomly, there are a few rules it looks like they need to adhere to:
- They have to be at a location. They won’t just randomly be on some rock in the wasteland.
- They will never be inside buildings or underground.
- And from what I’ve been able to gather, they can’t be at:
- trade towns
- Mutant Bash TV
- the Chazcar racetrack
- authority sentries
- bounties
- feltrite meteors
But they can appear anywhere else, even the locations of interest with the white icon on the map.

Here's a couple things that should help you find these drones. First and foremost, they make a pulsating noise when you get close to them. If you look at them for a couple seconds they will fly away. For that reason I would suggest using the rocket launcher so nothing is left to chance, but if they do still manage to fly off, save your game immediately, and load that save. This will load you in right in front of whatever place you found the drone at, and it will be right back where it was before it left.

There is also a skill in the search and recovery project tree that will show a signal tracker that hones in on spy drones from much further away than their sound cue can be heard. You will have to also unlock the signal tracker skills for data pads and storage containers before you can get the drone skill, and all of these will be shown through the same proximity meter. For this reason, I wouldn’t suggest getting the feltrite sensor skill, because feltrite is also often on walls and has a blue glow, so it can get your hopes up pretty often. Plus it’s one more signal to track which slows down the whole process.

The last thing is that the the Icarus is instrumental in speeding up the process of tracking down drones. You unlock this by getting Dr Kvasir to level 7, which you can accomplish by doing fallen rangers, arks, feltrite meteors, and data pads.

This one took me about 5 hours, so be ready for a grind.

Confirming that this can be done over multiple playthroughs. On my first run I found (only) 19 spy drones. Then on my easy ironman run I got this achievement on shooting the 11th spy drone. I'm pretty sure all the kill achievements (1337 goons, wingstick headshots, rocket launcher kills) can be done in multiple playthroughs, but can only confirm this for sure for the rocket launcher kills.

In this video guide I will be mainly discussing the achievement for destroying 30 spy drones. Now you can watch my video to see what they look like and sound like. Kind of hard to describe both. Later in the game you can get a skill from the dr by doing his first mission. Once you buy just one of the other skills to be able to unlock it you can see them a lot easier by the tracker. These are also randomized so in one persons game might not be there for another.

Also if you let one get away quickly reload your quick save to make sure you don't miss it. It seems from my experience if you let too many get away it could mean you would need to start a new game. Now I did this and only needed one more. I got it one the new game and it worked. So the starts track from game to game which is good. You can see how many you have when going into the logs info. The stats also seem off, so don't go off it entirely. Once you get that 30th the achievement will pop.

I'm late to the party. Following the solutions above about just flying from location to location were ineffective, frustrating and extremely time consuming. The solution can be found by using the Map Genie and hiding everything other than Spy Drones.

Map here: https://mapgenie.io/rage-2/maps/wasteland

Alternatively image you can see the image: https://imgur.com/a/IBll0BW

I would recommend saving the game, then loading from save. Once done, you can then travel from location to location on the map rather the advice to just explore the whole map which will take you several hours.

Spy Drones are collectibles that appear at random locations in the world and will fly away as soon as you spot them but each has 3 possible spawning locations, thus making this trophy a pain to get.

First, you will want to unlock the perk Spy Drone Tracking. Which is found in the Search & Recover section of the Projects menu. All the tracking perks are very good and should be unlocked as soon as possible. These will direct you to you target but before you go near it. Save your game just in case, because they will fly off as soon as you aim at them and disappear to the next location. If you do miss it, reload and try again. With the perk and careful tracking at every location you visit afterwards, this is highly achievable but if you are struggling, here is an awesome guide written by PowerPyx with 97 different locations to look at: LINK

The Spy Drones will be present in locations throughout the map and unfortunately, their appearance is completely randomised so a guide for where to find them is useless. First, you will want to unlock a perk, 'Spy Drone Tracking' found in the 'Search & Recover' section of the Projects menu, you will need to purchase either 'Storage Container Tracking' OR 'Datapad Tracking' first as well as unlock tier 3 of these projects. It is important that you don't purchase all of the tracking perks, since you will need to use this tracking to find the Spy Drones and the tracking does not differentiate between what it tracks, so the less your trackers is finding, the better.

Now begins the arduous task of finding 30 Spy Drones. There is no easy or fast way to do this, you will simply need to visit each and every location on the map, see if there is a Spy Drone present, destroy it if there is, then move onto the next location and repeat this until you have found 30. There are thought to be only 34 in the game, which combined with their random chance to spawn in any given location means you will likely need to check almost every single location on the map to get 30.

It is strongly recommended that you make a save before entering a location in case the Spy Drone sees you and flies away, the Spy Drone will see you if you look at it directly for a second or so. It is unknown where they go to, if they come back or if they are gone forever when they fly away so to be safe, make a save before entering a location then head in to find them, then if one of them does fly away, just reload your save to spawn outside the same location and try again to destroy it. I found using the Rocket Launcher was the best approach as it destroys them instantly and you only need to hit somewhere near it to cause enough splash damage to destroy it.

Updated text guide from PowerPyx with screenshots
Possible locations marked on the map by me. Confirmed spawns are marked in red, unconfirmed spawns are marked in blue.

— Each drone has several possible spawn points. At the moment, more than 80 drone spawn points are known. If you don't find a drone in one of the locations described in the guide, this is most likely how it should be.
— Drones never appear inside buildings (including underground locations, although they may appear in front of them) or near government towers. It is quite possible that in fact drones can appear in any other locations for clearing, and not just those described in the guide.
— Drones are easily recognized by their characteristic buzzing sound.
- If you are close enough to the drone and look directly at it, it will try to fly away. The safest way to shoot them is with a rocket launcher. If the drone leaves, immediately load the autosave and it will return to its original location. In addition, the drone can fly away if you simply open fire close to it - be careful when clearing camps.
— It makes sense to buy Kvasir’s project to display drones on a locator. At the same time, it is advisable not to buy a project to display felttrite, so that it does not distract you.
— It’s convenient to move from location to location on the Icarus.
— Drones destroyed in subsequent playthroughs also count towards the score. If you have gone through all the points and didn't fall out, start a new game and finish off a few more drones.

The drone can be tracked; it flies from one location to another along its own given route, and not a random one (this is what is said in the game). I tracked them this way, tracking which location he was flying towards, and then looking there. They usually don't fly far.

There are two ways - look for it yourself, or gain the skill to see drones with the help of concentration.
Level up your skill:
- mission "to find Dr. Kvasil in the Secreto Swamps." We find it on the northern part of the map of the Swamp Secreto region. Gives the task - "Control Center". we go through it and get the necessary access.
Section in the “projects” menu, then “find and pick up”, pump up to level 3 and open the following two skills: at level 1 of the skill tree “datapad tracking” or “container tracking”, and at level 3 of the skill tree select “tracking” spy drones." That's it, now a special radar shows the degree of approach to them. but in fact, if you pass a location with drones at a distance, then the detector will not show it.
Before this pumping, I myself looked for them on the map; they emit a specific crackling sound when they are present in a location and you approach them. The closer you are to the drogue, the louder the crash.
All locations are personally checked. I have never seen a similar guide with placement on the map on the Internet (and if it suddenly flies away, you will successfully find it in a nearby location - the main thing is to see the direction of its flight). By the way, I found 31 devices.
Locations of these devices - drones, spy drones (Google the placement locations and voila):

Drones destroyed in subsequent playthroughs DO NOT count towards the score.

In 1 playthrough I broke 15 drones, started a new game +, broke another 16 drones, didn’t get the trophy, total statistics 31.
Loaded the save from 1 playthrough, broke 13 drones, 28 in total, dropped the trophy, total stats 44.

Whoever wrote here about a roughly similar situation, in the 1st playthrough he broke 27 drones, in the 2nd playthrough he broke 8 more, the trophy does not fall out. Loads 1 playthrough, breaks 1 drone, trophy drops.

PS Advice: 1. Do not navigate by the locator if the area is not cleared of Containers and datapads.
2. Pour into the Icare zone, clamp and try to hear the drone. If the drone is behind a wall or column, it is practically inaudible. I didn’t hear my last drone 3 meters away, I saw it by accident.

Many drones ended up in completely different places. My advice: take a helicopter and fly it around all the points, this way you will go around all the locations much faster and find the necessary drones. By the way, I got the trophy after finding the 29th spy.

First, improve your drone search skill, and then search for each point, remembering to use the ability.
I followed the map, but only collected 28. I went along the unmarked ones and immediately found the last one, the 29th

Drone spawn maps are garbage. I collected only about a third of the drones from them. Then he simply began to fly around on unanswered “questions”. According to personal observations, they respawn most often in bandit camps, at bandit outposts and near arks. That's where I found it most often. The trophy fell exactly on the 30th.

As it turned out in the end, I played on easy difficulty and the drones flew away only if they received damage (blast wave) or after direct eye contact with me. Drones are usually on the 2nd floor level. Without a detector, I cleared a location like this: 1, from a distance, I tried to walk around the area being cleared in a circle before the start in order to see the blue LED, if not, I went in and cleared (basically I stood in one place and waited for all the enemies, or I walked methodically clearing without raising the sight to the ceiling, then just listen and carefully look around (if suddenly it flew away, restart the checkpoint and it is in place). As a result, 33 drones after clearing all locations (the trophy fell on the 30th drone as expected) + a hint appears in the game that the drone does not fly away at all and you can use it after that. track down (haven't tried).

If you have already reached the end of the game. If you cleared all the locations, but didn’t fill up the drones, I advise you to return to the very beginning where you were without the detector. If you have detectors for containers, boxes, felttrite, then their signal will interrupt the drone signal and you will not see it, so first collect all the containers. When you detect a drone, shoot with a rocket launcher, then it will not have time to fly away, and if it tries, it will be covered with an explosion.

The advice is not to worry about the trophy until you get the skill to see drones using concentration and immediately pump your concentration to the maximum to see further.
Drones will be highlighted in pink (almost the same as enemies but brighter and their shape)
as soon as you have pumped it up, start flying the Icarus to points on the map (mostly these are CT by type, barriers, checkpoints, gas stations, etc. any places with buildings where this thing could get caught)
I don't want to spoil someone else's work, but the map above with the marked places is not correct. I came across drones at points not marked there more often than in red circles. so my advice is to start going around the points all over the map again after gaining the skill. and although they write that there are more than 30 of them, after combing the entire map I did not immediately collect 30. I had to return to the start where I trusted the map to go through some locks again

Restarting the autosave to destroy the same drone does not work.
