How to unlock the Skeet Shooting achievement in RAGE 2 - Definitive Guide

A realy easy way to unlock this achievement is after unlocking vortex, spend a nanotrite booster to unlock the anti gravity ability
use the vortex to throw and hold the enemy in the air for a short time
then shoot them while aimed in with the shotgun

You shoot a slug-shot by aiming down the sights before shooting with the shotgun. You unlock the shotgun automatically in the first hour of the story.

An easy way without any abilities and perks is via MBTV in the Wetlands. Right at the beginning aka first wave the enemies are fired from cannon barrels and are thus in the air. Just aim with cn_LT and shoot an enemy. Thats all. Easy and repeatable in less seconds.

The "normal" way should be over the vortex ability with the anti gravity 1 or 2 perk. You unlock the vortex ability in the Quake Hill Ark in the starting area of Rage 2. My video shows both ways to unlock the achievement.

Great solution and thank you for explaining how to do it with a slug, I thought maybe it was a shot gun upgrade. This game it fun as hell.

You will get the shotgun during the Blackout mission in the sewers, shortly after talking to Marshall.

The slug-shot is fired by aiming down the shotgun's sights before shooting, simple as that. I was, however, unable to get this ach to unlock by shooting mutants in the sewers mid-jump. This might be a glitch, or you just aren't supposed to unlock the ach this way, though this method might work for others; just try it out.

Eventually, I unlocked this achievement using Shatter (hold down cn_LB, then hit cn_X) on an armored Goon enemy, immediately followed up by a slug-shot (hold down cn_LT, then hit cn_RT). Just make sure the Shatter attack doesn't kill the enemy, nor push them against a wall before the slug-shot connects. Also, I attacked the enemy from a crouched stance, aiming slightly upwards.

If you need visual assistance, refer to my below XBL clip, which shows the exact instance of me obtaining this ach.

I got this Achievement fighting an Abadon Crusher (the really big sewer mutants). They seem to start each fight by jumping down into the fight pit, and then they also jump at you a lot during the fight. I got it when one jumped at me, and I kinda panic-fired.

The OG solution above worked perfectly.

I'm convinced this achievement is glitched i've hit an enemy in the air multiple, well over a dozen times, even using the same enemy and hit them 5+ times in the air before i ran out of ammo and it still won't unlock.

Scotty x360a are you holding LT to sight down gun then pressing RT because that is alt fire that does slug shot which is what you have to hit flying target with not just normal fire from shot gun RT.

Hello everybody!

So this achievement actually has a very easy set of prerequisites. Get the Shatter ability at the Junkers Pass Ark (Twisting Canyons). Afterwards, head on to Gunbarrel to start the first story mission you unlock there. You will get the shotgun during this mission. Once that's all done, you can do a very quick 1-2 to get this achievement. Run up to any armored enemy, and use shatter (cn_LB+cn_X) to launch them into the air and quickly aim and fire with the shotgun. Check out my video and timestamp below to see this strategy in slow motion.

I got this at one of the road blocks. if someone from ground level climbs a ladder, blast him. i cant say for sure if the shot on the ladder counted because i double tapped. what i can say is that the fall animation takes a bit of time and was not affected by the fact it was a slug shot, so he shouldn't go flying and you can line up the shot

In this video guide I show you how to hit an airborne enemy with the shotgun's slug shot. Now this is after you get the shotgun from an ark which will be one of the earlier one you will reach first. After that you will need the ability vortex from another ark you will reach later on. I would say not too much after you get your shotgun if you use focus to find the hidden ark in the first area.

After you get the vortex ability you will need to upgrade it a bit to make this easier. Go into your nanotrites page and scroll down to the vortex ability. You could upgrade it to level two to make the range better but it is not needed. Go into the view perks page (A button). From there upgrade the anti gravity to at least level one. If you can you can also upgrade it to level two, to make it easier.

Now once you have both the shotgun and vortex upgraded you will need to head to an enemy outpost or mutant base. Once you reach one you will need to use the vortex ability first by holding the LB button and pressing the Y button. Once you launch the enemy in the air you will need to aim down the sights of the shotgun by pressing LT. Now aim at the enemy and shoot while in the air to unlock the achievement.

The Shotgun is obtained during the Blackout mission, you will be tasked with finding an Ark with the weapon inside. The tutorial inside will show what is needed to use the Shotgun's secondary fire, which shoots Slugs when aiming down the sights. You need to shoot an airborne enemy only, not kill them.

There are a few methods you can use to obtain this trophy:

Method 1 - Using Slam or Vortex abilities will cause enemies to fly into the air, you can use these and shoot them after. Make sure to have the relevant upgrades unlocked.

Method 2 - There are plenty of locations throughout bandit camps with walkways that are broken. Wait on one side for the melee enemies to jump across after you. Shoot them while they are airborne

Method 3 - If you have access to the DLC, the Void ability from the Rise of the Ghosts can be used. Hold the enemy above your head and drop them. After they start to fall, shot them.

See A Noah Lot for a Guide to all the Ark locations.

To unlock the Skeet Shooting trophy in RAGE 2, you will first need to play the Blackout mission, which is one of the three missions that become available once you access the open-world, and collect the shotgun after talking to Marshall.

Using the shotgun, you can use the secondary slug shot by simply aiming down the gun's sights before you shoot. When aiming down the sites, you will need to shoot an enemy that is in the air.

You can unlock the trophy towards the end of the Blackout mission when you enter the final room. Once you kill the final boss, some additional enemies will spawn. When they spawn, head to the bridge section and jump across to the opposite side. When one of the enemies attempts to jump the gap in the bridge, shoot them and the trophy will unlock.

You acquire the Shotgun during the story mission 'Blackout' when asked to 'Investigate the Ark'.

This achievement can be finicky as the wording seems to be ambiguous. You need to send an enemy airborne yourself, not simply hit an enemy in the air. If an enemy flies under their own power, hitting them with a Slug Shot will not unlock this achievement.

There are a few ways to achieve this, but the best method's are using either 'Slam' or 'Vortex'. Using 'Slam' you need to make sure you do not have it fully levelled up as the damage it does will likely kill enemies outright, especially on easier difficulties, however on higher difficulties it may still be viable when fully upgraded. 'Vortex' can be fully upgraded and remain viable at any difficulty, even doing so may make this achievement easier, though it is not necessary. To use the shotgun's Slug Shot you need to simply be aiming down the sights when firing.

What you will want to do is equip your shotgun and have it ready pointed in the correct direction, then either use 'Slam' ( + ) to send your chosen enemy flying back, or use 'Vortex' ( + ) to have them float in the air in front of you, then quickly aim down your shotgun's sight and shoot them. 'Slam' is much harder as the enemies hit will fly backwards at a decent speed and you will need to readjust your aim to hit them, whereas with 'Vortex' they will simply float in front of you for a second or so giving you much more time to line up a shot.

You need to hit with an alternative shotgun shot.
As the story progresses, almost at the very end, there will be many flying enemies.

We use the whirlwind ability on the enemy and when the enemy is thrown into the air, we shoot at him with a targeted shot from a shotgun

When the enemies take off and shoot on their own, I killed a bunch of them, but the trophy did not drop. I upgraded the whirlwind ability so that enemies would fly up and freeze in the air for a few seconds, but it immediately fell out. The whirlwind is located in the Crooked Canyons location on the right on the coast, it’s easy to find.

My trophy dropped when I used a shotgun to kill a mutant who was stuck in the ceiling texture.
