So this is my fourth post in a row, but based on information I've received from a gamer who accomplished this, this solution might be wrong. I've scored 48,000,000+ in Raiden Fighters Jet (only one person above me on the leaderboards who hasn't unlocked the 50M achievement), and with all my high scores across various game modes I have surely landed 10,000,000 points in bonuses, not to mention I did the above solution 5..10 times without unlocking it. So either it's glitched or the solution above is wrong (or I'm missing something).

There is a change the bonus points may only be from grazing bullets and things of this sort, which my game style doesn't land me much in terms of bonuses.

We need, well I need, to find out what bonus points count.

You may not even need to hold down the auto bomb for this achievement. I went outside during my 4th attempt and just left the game running with your setup. When I came back in, I had the achievement! Maybe the period of invincibility after you die grants the same bonus.

Finally unlocked it after trying this method just letting it play three or four times. Each time only netted my about 500,000 points so if they were all bonus points then I must have been within 2,000,000 points of the 10,000,000 needed. The achievement doesn't appear glitched as I once thought.

Could it be that I am just moving out of the way of the bullets much more than everyone else here is?

It popped in the middle of game 5 for me. I also earned the 10 Million achievement while attempting this.

Solution isn't quite right - the set up is good but the whole point is that when you use bomb with the Faerie ("B" button default) you become momentarily invisible and can absorb bullets, which give you the bonus points.

So how is this wrong? I just did it on my JP copy without a issue. With the settings on Very Hard you get the bullets coming non stop. Then with the bomb you become invincible which counts towards the bonus. So please explain how it's wrong

*Not "wrong" (bad word choice on my part), maybe a tad fuzzy - helps knowing what your aiming for. Ie; the actual absorption of the bullets is what gives you the bonus points, thus the achievement.

@Yuu Matsura it's under "equipment options" in the training section.

(start, start, 1st option, 3rd option, 4th option, ship is greyed (1st) so 2nd is fighter(s) [lives] and 3rd is bomb(s). Then B for back, 1st option to start the game.) (you may have to select your ship and stage/difficulty as well if not already done)

I've played this game quite a while and this has still not popped for me. I've even unlocked the 12 hour game play achievement. It seems this is glitched.

Just one thing I wanted to add. I was having the same problem as Xonatron, until I realized what I was doing, I was holding down autofire and autobomb. Once I reread the solution for the tenth time I realized I was only supposed to hold down the bomb button. Then there was more enemies that I was absorbing bullets from, got it on my first playthrough after I was only firing bombs.

It took more than 2 games, but this method popped it for me. Thanks.

You get this by almost getting hit (sparks fly off your ship).
Here is the best method that I have seen from Laorik (he used RFJ but I was told it can be done on RF2 with the same ship):

"Using training mode on RFJ again, boost your fighters and bombs number to 99 and choose fairy as a character. Set enemy fire to 100% and difficulty to expert. Then go into the last, level Real Battle phase 2 + Final Boss, and simply move to the back of the map and just constantly press the bomb button. While Fairy's is in her bomb shooting mode, she actually absorbs bullets for points and they count for the almost master achievement. It took me about 1 1/2 playthroughs of the level to get Almost Master."
