Is there a flag for achievements like this? I know some gamers hate immediately unlocking something before they even play. At least it's even.

I don't think you need to press the "A" button. The achievement unlocks on the title screen.

You simply have to open the game successfully to obtain this achievement. If it does not unlock, try rebooting your Xbox or moving closer to your router.
